1/2 NL
I have $300
opponent has around $270

dealt 66...I limp in Early middle. couple of limpers...sb makes a $10 raise..BB calls, I call as does my opponent who limped.

FLOP $40
Q82 rainbow

Everyone checks.

TURN $40
Q826

I have a set of 6's. SB moves all-in for around $50. BB calls?!?! I'm like wow..alright..whatever...The BB has $100 left so I raise to $150 to put him in. The MP limper reraises all-in like another $115!!!?!?!?! BB folds...i'ts back to me...I think think, see the pot is enourmous and call. I wish i had notes on him before I called this.

Anyway...river was a blank and MP took it with 88.

This is the stupid thing. the SB had AQ and didn't bet the flop!! and then the BB had KK and didn't bet behind him!!! Which allowed me to check around and draw to my dead 2 outer. WTF is that?? How do these guys not bet the flop??? patheic.

One other thing...the guy with 88 that won, was the only guy on the table that was even close to my $300 stack. UGH!!! WTF.

Ugly. Bad players kill you, not by sucking out, but by allowing you to almost but not quite catch up. Ugly ugly.

One thing to keep in mind, which I'm sure you know: the odds of set over set go up every street you see. I'm a lot less happy hitting a low set on the turn than on the flop. On the other hand, the odds that everybody would play it so badly to let it happen like this ... can't be high.

Anyway, let me just second your "WTF" with my own: WTF!!??

let me look at this one again.....check the flop, all in on the turn, no str8 on the board, no flush....he HAD to have checked the set....i suppose he could have pulled a cheap 2pr...but the check, then all-in when the rag hits is textbook slowplay of the set....

So in looking at this, you only beat him if he has 22, 88 or QQ have you dead.....Part of me thinks you could have seen that there was a 2/3 chance you were dead....1/3 chance you were good....all in all it was probably a 50/50 whether you were ahead or behind counting the fact he goes AI w/2pr......You were getting better than those odds, and a set in the hand is tough to put down....

lessons learned right?

Can't do anything about that. But you already knew that. Sometimes it's good to vent when morons cost you a lot of money.

The funny thing I forgot to mention is that the river was a king. If the KK had made a horrible call...he would have struck gold on the river for 3 sets on one harmless looking board.
