This hand happened at the end of the night and I know how badly I misplayed it but I want more opinions. I equate my misplays to greed, overcofidence and not used to playing for these stakes.

$1/$2 NL at the Taj. I have a stack of $720, biggest stack by far. I am getting TONS of respect and no one is challenging me. I get AA in the BB and there are 6 limpers to me. I raise it to $22. I believe this was low because the typical "low" preflop raise is to $12 and I've see raises of $15 and $17 get called by multiple people and raises of $22 get called as well.

UTG and UTG+1 call. UTG is a terrible calling station and has called down $50 bets to river with top pair, 6 kicker and won, called a $50 bet on river with 4 to a flush on the board and he had 6 high flush. UTG+1 seems weak and he hasn't been involved in a lot of pots and I'm sure I can push him out if he doesn't hit the flop very hard.

Pot is about $70. Flop is T42 rainbow.

I bet $50 and the UTG player calls. He had about $200 at the beginning of the hand and now about $120 left. UTG+1 folds.

Pot is $170. Turn is 2

Here is where I mess up. I think he probably has the 10, even the 4 and I want to get everything. I bet $50 which is too small. He calls without hesitation.

Pot is $270. River is offsuit 5.

I check (I'm not sure why so this is an obvious mistake. I guess i got gun-shy). He goes all in for his remaining $72. I think what he could have. He could have the 2 but he could EASILY have the 10, or 10-5 so I would have a better two pair. Getting about 5:1 for my call, i call and he shows A3s for flopped gutshot draw, no flush draw and he made it on the river.

I misplayed this hand on almost every street. I should have raised more preflop and gone all in on the turn. As you can see, I got greedy and didn't push him out. He didn't have the odds to chase what he had anyway but I should have at least charged him more on the turn, meaning his whole stack. If he wanted to call me off there for a gutshot, more power to him. A friend also suggested making it $40 preflop and gone all in on the flop since these people are calling raises that are extremely out of proportion.

After this hand, i couldn't really think straight. It was the end of the night so I finished up my round, didn't play any hands and left before my next BB up $324 which could have been up much more if I pushed the guy out (which the way he plays, it may have been impossible).

Okay guys, let me have it. Don't hold back, its the only way I will learn although losing a $400+ pot slaps some sense into me.

You raised 11BBs and he called with A3s? Its obvious why we make so much money playing this game. I cant figure out why people playing live call these monster raises. Nobody will call that raise online.

I dont think you played wrong at all. The guy has no idea what hes doing and I bet you he left shortly after you except he left broke.

Ice - the sad thing is about the raises is that people over raised the pot pretty much every hand and $22 was actually a NORMAL raise. These people seem to think implied odds are everything but don't bet enough after to get someone's entire stack so its bad. Therefore, with so many limpers, I should have raised more. This guy had been at the table for a couple hours. He would bleed off a few hundred then catch a run of cards or someone would stupidly try to bluff him for big money with an unimproved AK and he would win a couple big pots with crap. He was still at the table about an hour later when I left the casino but couldn't have lasted much longer.

Monk - I was trying to do exactly what you said on the turn, suck him in because I was sure I was ahead and there were no draws that would get good enough odds for him to call me since he only had $72 left so implied odds weren't there either. Even he wouldn't call preflop with 3-5.
