Theres a high stakes game here locally that Ive been too a couple times. Ive never played in it, but the guy who runs the games is constantly coaxing me to play. There is so much money to be made in that game its hard to believe. The blinds are $25/$50 and it has a $5000 max buy in just like at UB. Some of the players have more money in their pocket than my house is worth.

A friend of mine has been begging me to play in it for 2 months now. He has scraped up $10000 and Im adding $10000 to it. Im going to hit the game on Thursday night. Theres supossed to be 2 extra fishy guys in town for a convention starting Thursday night.

Its only 4 buy ins so its a risk of course but , if I lose, I can make $10000 back in a short time (relatively short anyway) in my regular games.

Some of these guys dont have a clue and several of them will be drinking heavily.

Wish me luck!

Damn, I wanna be Ice when I grow up... :D

So is he backing you 50/50? That sounds like a pretty good deal for you. Make sure to play g000t and clean up that place. Although I would be a bit wary of collusion in a private game with those stakes, I guess it just depends on how well you know the guy running the game.

The problem is if the cops find it, They will confiscate everything. I know because it happened here in charlotte...and that game wasnt even as high stakes

Good luck though. It's gonna be really hard to make good calls and stuff with that amount of money maybe though?

Thats kind of weird kenny, maybe the laws are different in NC but here in California, it is completely legal to have home games as long as the person running the game isn't taking a rake.

Good luck Ice, sounds like you should have no problem beating this game, but with only 4 buyins you just have to get lucky enough to not get unlucky, with unlimited buy ins behind you I'm sure you would destroy this game.

I know the guy running the place well enough to know its legit.
There is no rake. Everyone pays a "snack fee" to play.

Not that it matters anyway, I would know when the cops were coming and I wouldnt be there that night. This is a one time deal for me most likely.

My friend is putting up 50% of the money at risk and hes getting 25% of the profit (since hes not doing anything but watching). I dont know if this is good or bad for a one time hit and run thing, but its what we decided on.

MVP, I dont usually talk numbers, because it could be considered rude by some, and besides alot of it depends on how many hours you put in and how high the stakes you are playing, but I'll make an exception this one time. For the month of March Im +$5800 so far.

It sounds like a good opportunity. Just make sure that you are mentally prepared to handle the game regardless of the outcome (and that includes your partner)! Make sure that he understands that no matter how good you are, you just might lose the money that night. One shot at a great game isn't worth destroying a friendship over (I'm not trying to suggest that it would ruin your friendship, just that it might if everyone involved didn't understand the risks adequately).

I know your game is up to it, so good luck if you play!

Ice why do you want to make this a one time hit and run??? Make a couple of buyins the first tme, there. If it is a rich and as soft as it sounds, 6 buy-ins could be enough to start a cash cow. The only problem is that at some point you might not be invited back if you keep beating the game.

I doubt they won't let him come back if he keeps winnning. These guys sound like they wipe their asses with hundred dollar bills, and if they are there to gamble they won't mind losing all that much.

Good Luck Ice!!
Vinny: Why are we stopped here? What's wrong with that spot?
Tyrone: It's too tight.
Vinny: Too tight? You could land a jumbo f*cking jet in that.
