I definitely check the river in that situation. You have put $25 dollars of your intial $65 into this pot and your hand, although good enough to showdown, is very vunerable. You are very likely beaten here and the last thing you want to do is reopen the betting with a marginal hand.
I think you played the hand correctly, protecting your hand with decent sized bets. However, with that river it is time to flip your cards over and hope your opponent didn't make a flush or 2-pair.
One thing to keep in mind; a player can profitably call large bets with draws with insufficient pot odds if he can get you to pay off large enough when he hits his draw. Don't open yourself up to this situation by reopening the betting. (With your stack size, your opponent would have to have more than a naked flush draw to be profitable even he gets your whole stack, but if he had a pair and a flush draw or open ended straight and flush draw this is a possibility)
