I wouldn't call this trapping, no one is gonna fold AA here. You were stacking him regardless.

For what its worth this is about as bad as you can play a set though. Some better options would be the normal, lead, get raised, push. Or check call flop lead turn also works good if you want to get some value from missed AK's. Checkraising flop all in is just bad, a lot of lower pairs might fold to such a huge bet, whereas with a lead they would have to raise it or call and they become committed.

Also that is about the safest flop for you, I just smooth call there I think and try and get it on the turn

I don't like the all in on that flop, if he has something like TT he may just let it go.

Instead I lead into him there and call his raise or shove over that, but I hate the check raise

the most devestating and effective way to play a set OOP, IMO is as follows.

you bet, get raised, take a second, call, then CRAI the turn all in. 95% of villains are getting stacked with an overpair vs this line.

1. Hand convereter - the one at FTP didn't seem to like Tribeca's format. Didn't I try hard enough, or is there another converter that can deal with Tribeca?


2. I hear what you guys are saying, and actually really like the Lead/Call/Push on the turn. Will try it next time.


btw- this villain had played in this table over 50 hands, and I knew that once he's in a pot, he never lets go. (and ofcourse, never ever with AA) fishy but profitable.
