But it probably isn't +EV long term,
This was at Eurolinx NL50 6max. These folks are really really loose and mostly crappy and will raise or push almost any 2 cards most of the time. Makes it very had for a 6max noob like me to know when to play a hand and when not to.
Critique if you like but remember this is low content so I aint exactly lookin' for a dissertation on my donkeyness.
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
6 players
Stack sizes:
UTG: $66.45
SebTerfuge: $52.25
CO: $34.30
Button: $52.45
SB: $50.35
BB: $14.80
Pre-flop: (6 players) SebTerfuge is UTG+1 with
UTG raises to $1.5, SebTerfuge calls $1.5 (pot was $2.25), 2 folds, SB calls $1.25 (pot was $3.75), BB calls $1 (pot was $5).
Flop: ($6, 4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $1, SebTerfuge calls $1 (pot was $7), SB calls $1 (pot was $8), BB raises to $3, UTG raises to $5, SebTerfuge calls $4 (pot was $15), SB folds, BB raises all-in $10.3, UTG calls $8.3 (pot was $26.3), SebTerfuge calls $8.3 (pot was $34.6). I called the $4 cuz I figured at the tme I roughly had pot odds to do so, and with implied odds I didn't think it was too bad of a mistake to do so if a mistake at all. When the BB reraised to $4 and then rereraised allin, I figured him for a set and prolly woulda folded had UTG not called the allin and still had lots of money, so I called the allin as well and started praying for a diamond!
Turn: ($46.9, 2 players + 1 all-in - Main pot: $46.9)
UTG bets $10, SebTerfuge calls $10 (pot was $56.9). This card sucked but prolly didn't help him either, but then he bets like only just over 20% of the pot which felt really weak for someone OOP, and I just couldn't put this particular guy on much more than a pair or a draw so I figure I have to call and keep praying.
River: ($66.9, 2 players + 1 all-in - Main pot: $46.9, Sidepot 1: $20)
UTG bets $11, SebTerfuge raises all-in $27.45, UTG calls $16.45 (pot was $105.35). SWEET BABY JESUS! My train has finally come in right on time! In the end I gave him credit for more of a hand than he had cuz when he called my allin, I thought he had a smaller flush or possibly a straight, not a stupid single over pair! As for the dude who flopped a set, well, tough shit buddy. Guess you shoulda reloaded beforehand and had enough to hurt me or make my donkass fold.
Results:
Final pot: $121.8

Was any of my thinking during the hand like way off base? I'm still definitely just learning this NL 6max stuff so if I am making major mistakes in basic play please let me know.
