I had raises called by 37 and Q3 offsuit tonight and lost both times.
I played 5 SNG's tonight and in only 1 did I actually have more chips than I started with at any point. And in that one I went out with AJ when I raised and flopped top pair against AA. That would not be so bad, but the AA guy had previously won hands UTG with T4s, called all ins with 89o and A3o and called another raise with Q5 offsuit. So of course I run into him when he has his only legitimate hand.
In the other 4 SNG's I raised a total of 11 times and was called 10 of those times. The only time I wasn't called is when I raised my normal raise with KK.
I flopped a nut straight and got my all-in called by 2 guys with flush draws. Of course flush hit on the turn.
In 2 of those SNG's I never even saw a pair, nevermind top pair. How do you win a game where nobody folds and you can't catch cards? Simple answer is you don't!
I saw AJ 7x tonight. I hate that damn hand and always secretly hope that someone will raise me off it. I lost all 7x. 5x to much worse hands.
In SNG #3 I waited 15 minutes to play my 1st hand and when I raised 5xBB w/ AQ, 2 people pushed all-in behind me.
I tried to steal one hand tonight w/ [5c] and flopped 2 pair. I was called on every street and opponent hit a runner-runner gutshot straight draw. He was calling with NOTHING - Q high.
Short stacked in the BB I flop 2 pair and raise all-in to the SB's flop bet. Button calls with a set of 3's.
I won 13 out of 223 hands total tonight. Never mind sets. In those 223 hands I saw just 1 pocket pair. I had AK, AQ, or AJ a total of 13 times tonight and won 3 times. 2 of those were preflop folds. The 3rd was a split pot for a full house w/ 3 Tens on board.
I couldn't win tonight if my opponents showed me their cards.
Moral of the story: THANK GOD we have this part of the forum to bitch in because sometimes getting it off my chest here keeps me from going on tilt and losing a good portion of my bankroll. I just spent the last 20 minutes posting this instead of pissing my money away. You've saved lives with the Bad Beat section. I've posted it and now I can let it go and start fresh tomorrow.
