Bodog recently released a new patch. Ever since that time, my computer freezes pretty regularly when I'm playing there.
Bodog question: anybody else had this happen?
I called customer support, they said nobody had reported anything like this and said the fix they instituted shouldn't have that effect ... although the guy sounded very confident in saying this I have no idea what he was basing it on. But maybe he's right, in which case it's likely a computer problem on my end, and the fact that Bodog just released a patch is just a coincidence.
Anyway, at the suggestion of the guy at Bodog, I uninstalled Bodog off my computer, deleted all cookies from Internet Explorer, and then redownloaded the software and reinstalled it. For a while it ran fine but then it did the same thing. It took about 30 minutes to screw up he first time, but then like 15 minutes the second time and 10 minutes the 3rd time. So the 3rd time I quit for the night.
When it freezes, I hit ctrl-alt-delete and then click on the Bodog process that's running and click "End Process." I've noticed that the process always says "CPU Usage 99%" when I'm frozen, so that's obviously not good. It also says it's using like 100,000 K of memory, which is a lot for my crappy computer ($350 or so, manufactured by emachines)... but I watched as Bodog loaded and it went up over 90,000 K of memory right away even while the program was working fine, so I don't think that's the problem (??).
Any thoughts, anybody? Many many thanks in advance.
