A collection of various quotes is hardly proof of the one world government conspiracy bullshit. Because those are hardly an impressive collection of quotes for sucha big alleagation.

As for the David Rockefeller quote, minor investigation shows doubt over how reliable it is



It's a common refrain from conspiracy theorists to make or quote outlandish accusations against people who are rich/in the public eye and then say something like "If what I say isn't true why does he not sue me?". Obviously, the answer is because guys like David Rockefeller are busy being rich, telling sobordinates to make him richer and ultimately spending most of their time working out how to use a PC and stare at naked women on the interweb.

yes, I am aware of that, but there is usually a snopes or a truth or fiction page that pokes holes in the entire email.

I did find that the John Swinton quote was from 1870.

k3nt, I agree with your statements. My inlaws forward this shit around like crazy. A couple of them don't like me much now because I tell them this stuff is shit. Hell, two relative in the fucking air force sent out a photo of a russian helo painted up with an eagle (non bald variety) saying "look what our boys in afghanistan are doing.

I responded that it wasnt a US helo, troops, or a bald eagle but in russing HIN-D helo (turned out to be hungarian most likely and a Mi24-HIND, Red Dawn FTW)

I like to be able to say more than "this is another BS email" and have some facts to back up up though. I was able to uncover enough though.


some of the inlaws got pissed and dont communicate with me anymore, but some of them ask me to help them research the stuff before they send it out en mass. I am trying, probably in vein to show the BS behind these emails to some people I care about.

So don't think I have never dealt with this BS before or think I am get excited about these emails. I was just looking for a little help in busting some of the quotes.

Yah, I was trying to help you, not lecture to you.

I got the "Obama is a secret Muslim" one from a member of my wife's family and had to send back a letter pointing to snopes dot com and telling everybody to please not ever ever ever believe anything they read on a chain e-mail without confirmation. Didn't make myself any friends in the in-laws' family, but what can you do?

I'm a bit mystified that in 2008 people still pass along these dopey chain e-mails and think it's true. All seems so 1998 to me. But I've also stopped worrying about it, if people want to believe a bunch of BS, why stop them. It only makes them stupider and us smarter in comparison.
