Hey I have as much right to be a dick as anybody else
In my mind perhaps the most important distinction to make is between personal religion and organised religion.
Personal religion (like yours seem to be T-Rod) is about how you want to live your life and your personal relationship with god. I don't find that scary. It's not something for me, but I can see how many people will find great comfort and strenght in this. If you find that having more casual sexual relationships doesn't work for you that's fine. I have had a lot of more or less serious relationships before my current 8 year relationship (soon to me mariage) and so has my girlfriend. We both find this a great strenght, as it has tought us what to expect and how to behave in a relationship. If my current girlfriend had been my first, it would never had lasted.
Organised religion on the other hand, tends to be heavy on rules about how to live your life. Many of my friends (particularly the muslims in this case) are very unhappy because their religion restrict what they can and cannot do. They want to be with girls, drink and have fun. When they end up doing this despite their religion (and every one I know does this) they suffer from guilt that they are acting against gods will. Therefore they will end up having bad relationships.
I am afraid that I am getting drunk and just repeting my oppinion here: I don't like religions that make rules we have to obey or try to repress science.
