Me stupid European with different laws.
If I would shoot a burglar who just killed my kids and would be raping my wife I would end up in jail. :roll:

On the other hand. What good would it do if you shot him? Or is it just to scare the burglar. You can get a dog but in order to keep one you must love that type of animal if you want him not to hit on you and put in many hours training and taking him out.

I hope you and your family will forget this soon and that it will not stick in your head. It can be very mentally draining that somebody invaded your private space and took your stuff.

Beavis the idea of a dog is to discourage people from breaking in to begin with. Having a gun is nice to have protection if someone breaks in but its not going to discourage potential intruders like a dog would. No doubt a dog is a big investment in time but 12er already has one, though it is not really a dog that would instill fear in the hearts of potential burglars.

Get a sword and whatever license you need to be able to carry it in public imo.

If they're watching your house whatsoever and see you leaving/coming home with a GIANT SWORD on your back they will NEVER fucking rob you again imo.
