So I went out to dinner tonight and one of the cheeses that they served us was a gouda. I was talking to my friend about it and he mentioned the cheese pronouncing it as "goo-dah" and I corrected him saying that it was "gow-dah" or to be correct something like "khow-dah" with a weird emphasis on the KH. It was something that I remember tommyhawk telling to me while we were in the netherlands but I really wasn't positive and could definitely be wrong and confusing it with a different word/phrase that he taught me.
Either way.. We both insist that we're correct and aren't sure what the correct pronunciation is.
Can anyone help?
On a somewhat separate note.. how fucking good is Roquefort cheese.. like, seriously?

I've always said Gow-dah ... and Roquefort is known as the Prince of cheeses... though Stilton and a glass of good Port are a pretty damn good combo imo

I actually have told you how to pronounce it. GEEEEZ.
Original Gouda cheese is a very young cheese with very little taste. Here in holland it is mostley used for toast and for kids.
We have the best boerenkaas ( farmers cheese ) in this region of holland. Our local cheese shop has about 200 different cheeses all from the region.
I will ship some to you if there is a way to get it over and still be eatable.
I mean really, you could of made a good amount of money on that bet, you still have my cell number and i woulda have a nice bankroll again.
