Main Event Shares for Sale

Postby DaveRed » Mon Jun 23, 2008 2:58 pm

I'm a long time lurker, but don't post very much. I just graduated college with a major in CS/Math in May and am a new "Pro". I play cash games mostly, but saw the $370 qualifier to the main event as a good investment as you just get cash, and don't have to play (which I never intended to). Anyway, won a seat and now everyone is asking me why I don't want to play.

Simple reason: my bankroll is ~ 35k right now, and I have proper bankroll management. (Also I just spent a lot of $, I'm living in a nice place in SD, just bought a new computer with 30", etc).

After hearing about how easy the M.E. is, I decided to see if I could sell shares. I know Stelvask sold about 50% here (he was my roommate for 2 years in college). I'm willing to sell 60% so I only have to pay 4k to buyin (I know that's still a lot for my bankroll, but I'm willing to risk that much for a +EV tourney).

I am NOT a tournament player. I have played tournaments before, consider myself a solid player, but don't really like having 6+ hour sessions (I like playing for 1-2 hrs), and have played less than 200 tournaments.

I definitely have solid fundamentals, so I figure I have 100%+ ROI in the main event easily. I final tabled the $5 rebuy (25k) in '06, got outdrawn for 6th place... after like 8 hours...then after a long tourney break, final tabled the $27.50 (25k) in '07, got outdrawn for 9th place. So I've never been too big on them when cash games provide solid income (and less frustration), where I can simply win everyday, not having to wait for a 'score'. I also heard the 180 $20+2 sngs on stars were easy, so I won one of those (after I think 11 played) ..but just wasn't really too into them.

I've added my Stars stats on cash games for this year (Probably actually a little bit higher, this is only on my computer, I've played on other computers and most likely won).

If I do sell 60% I will play the ME and spend the next 2 weeks doing nothing but studying CardRunners videos on tourneys (I've read Harrington on Holdem 1&2).

I will be giving even $ in this, so if I cash for 20k, and you have 50%, you get 10k. Also unlike Stelvask I will give you any bonus money I get for making a TV table (with the exception of the $ I get if/when I win the M.E. and get sponsered...but at that point I think I've paid you enough on your investment anyway).

Stelvask can vouch for me to be an honest person (I'm not gonna run with the $)

This is a good investment, that's why I'm willing to put up 40% myself. I'd take 100% of myself if I could afford it! I accept stars/full tilt transfers or just cash in Vegas.

Let me know!

For what it's worth, I can vouch for Mexor.

As he stated in his post, he's not much of a tourney player, but has a good aggressive game. He's not typically a tourney player, but obviously anyone who is a long term winning player at these stakes is going to have a positive expectation in the ME.

feel free to contact me on the matter if you like.
