so last week a guy was playing in a 2/4 game at the Taj in AC. He got up and left his seat and when he returned there was someone else sitting there (word is it was a friend of his). Guy 1 tells him to get up, it was his seat , Guy 2 says tough shit, he's not getting up..a verbal fight gets under way and the poker room floor tells them to take it outside..(outside is only a few feet away at the Taj)...they both go outside where the guy who took the seat apparently has a knife and cuts the other guy (did I mention they were "friends"...killing him instantly...
sick...
my guess is that telling them to "take it outside" instead of calling security may come back to haunt the Taj Poker room...
on a side note..I'm playing in the "midnight madness tourney, $120 buy in, starts at midnight, major alcohol consumed by many at this time of day, 130 players, 15K in chips, 15 min blinds..used to be my favorite tournament to play in because of the stupid playing that goes on there and usually fun with some excitement (ie; fights etc) that arise..
blinds are 25/50, 3rd hand of the tourney, guy to my right makes a raise on the big blind of $400, BB calls, flop is like K-4-7, two spades...guy to my right has KK in his hand, bets out 1500, BB calls immediately, next card is an 8 (not a spade) , guy with KK bets out 5000 in chips...BB instacalls and the next card is another spade, giving the caller the flush and winning the hand over the trip King guy.
The guy with the kings loses it and calls the other guy a major donkey and starts yelling at him saying he can't believe he would call such a big bet trying to catch the flush,..the guy who won just starts laughing and continues laughing while he is being berated for being such a bad poker player...it goes on until I finally have had it...after hearing all day about the guy getting killed the previous week...
I finally say to the guy who is doing the yelling "jesus christ shut up, he paid for his chips and can play however he wants to..its a $120 tournament, get the f**k over it and sit down"...he sits down all muttering and remains heated the remainder of the tournament until our table breaks...the guy who won the hand continues to laugh throughout the entire time they played together.
