I've started a new routine.
The other night Shob and I went through EVERY hand of a 1500hand session in PT. Basically, went into Game Notes "get all" filter by date (earliest first), and looked at every hand where I put in >4bb (so, we know what I'm raising, calling, etc). Only takes about 20min, but we learned a lot about my game atm.
Couple things. I still have that persistent problem of not betting enough...I use AHK but often the bet sizing isn't nearly enough and I haven't been adjusting. So, I've immediately made a huge adjustment and the review of today's session showed a huge improvement. Another thing was that I didn't have sufficiently good plans OOP in raised/reraised pots. However, this issue takes a LONG time to work on...but at least I'm putting more effort into it now. Again, made some improvement on that today. Another one was looking for edges. We discussed an article on reciprocality (I HATE that word...should just be reciprocity) and how this one guy thinks that people get an edge in poker.
Basically, if everyone plays a given hand the same way, there's no edge. So, for example, since people tend to play AA similar to each other (at least more similar than they do other hands, though not true across the board), there isn't a really big edge in AA as a hand. There's great profit, but not so much 'edge'. However, there's a TONNE of edge in a hand like QTs since that's a hand that gets played a tonne of different ways, and good players will be able to extract lots of value, while bad players will tend to lose a lot with hands like QTs, J9s etc...so, I'm thinking of ways to play certain hands better than average (or even good players) in order to generate a bigger edge.
So, to answer you alex: I HAVE reviwed PT to try and see what was going on. I couldn't find anything obvious, but it's most likely nothing 'big' but a lot of really small things that just add up to really tip the balance.
