Yep you got it right runner, I'm at UB, been grinding out the NL50 tables for about 9 months I think now. My winrate, although good compared to the rest in my PT database isn't what I think i'm capable of so I wanted to spend a lot of time learning the game at this level, the play on the whole is pretty good so it's been a good school. I was planning on moving up at the turn of the year, but other events took over, I didn't play much and it's only the last 3 weeks I've really gotten back into it. So, I thought, I've been running real well, I hit 5k, why not have a go at the NL100s.

Been a good start to the move up, going at about 10BB/100 over 700hands or so and not really had any major hands apart from 2 all-ins with my full stack. One I lost to a suckout tho he had lots of outs, the other I won back later on in that same session. Gonna take me a lot of hands to really get into the 100s, I'm playing real cautious at the moment, trying not to play big pots without a premium holding. Losing a stack would majorly piss me off which was one reason why I held off moving up for so long.

The last 4 sessions have gone +36, +66, -3, -11
On the whole in the upwards direction. The 100s have been going ok but are responsible for the negative figures the last couple of days and not much above even now for the level. I haven't done a lot wrong, just haven't caught a hand in the last 400 of the 900 hands I've played at this level while at NL50 I'm going along at a nice clip 16BB/100 for the month so far over 4.5k hands. As I said previously I've only had a couple of all-in plays at NL100 and here they are:

Lost this one to a big draw but on a paired board.

UB NL100 FR
PF (9-h) MP2 calls, CO (Hero [As] [Jd] $97.5) raises to $5 folded around to MP2 ($117 17/4/2 TAG) who calls

Flop: [Jh] [8c] [Kc] ($11.50): MP2 checks, Hero bets $9, MP2 calls

Turn: [Js]: ($29.50): MP2 bets $16, Hero pushes $83.50, MP2 calls

River [2c] ($196.50) MP2 scoops with [Qc] [Tc]

Great call both PF and on the turn !!!!!!! classic TAG hand Uhh?

Got it back with a battle of the blinds

UB NL100 FR
PF (9-h) Folded around to SB (solid, $74) who calls and BB (Hero, [As] [Ts] $134) calls

Flop: [9s] [Ah] [Ad] ($2): SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: [Td] ($2): SB bets $2, Hero calls

River [9d] ($6): SB bets $5, Hero raises to $13, SB re-raises to $30, Hero pushes, SB calls

Final Pot: ($147) SB shows [Ac] [Jc] full house Aces over Nines, Hero wins with full house Aces over Tens

My last 2 sessions basically consisted of my CBs getting raised when I didn't have an answer for them and some of my button raises being re-raised forcing me to lay down. The only other pot I lost money was my 77 going down to QT on a board of 7TK A J. I bet pot (unraised) and he called me all the way. Those NL100 guys better watch out when I do finally get a streak because when this sorta thing used to happen at the 25s and 50s I'd be well down. At the 100s I'm still up, this is a promising sign.

Been doing a lot of reading around the forum lately, making notes particularly from the NL section and 2 things have really stood out for me.
First was a thread on some PT stats in which it was said that the WtSD was very low....too low in fact and anyone pating attetntion to this would be able to carry out a river bluff. Now my WtSD is floating around 15-16% at the moment and the past couple of weeks I've been trying to get it up a little, not that much but it's increased from low 15 to high 15 so it's something i'm working on. However since doing this, my W$SD had plumetted to below 50!! Hmmmmm. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to rethink this and to totally re-evaluate my river play, so from now on, 2 simple ideas to try out to reduce my losses.
For a while at least just to see how it goes....Stop value betting unless i'm 90% sure i'm ahead, as my value bets dont actually get me much value and anyone calling 50% of the time i'm beat. This could be a money saver. I'm going to check the river down more often in position and check-call out of position. Sounds pretty weak, but i'm going to try it and see what happens. I believe people only start paying attention at higher levels that i'm currently playing anyways so I don't think my image will be affected that much.
Second thing to back this up was reading Chance Artanis' post about his stats and multitabling 8 at PP. Wow, he's pulling in the BBs and playing pretty rock tight, pretty much set mining and, with at WtSD of around 14 i think it was.
So, who's right in this debate about WtSD?? Let the cash do the talking.

Here's an example of me value betting in position and it going horribly wrong.

UB 50NL 10-h
Pre-Flop: MP3 villain calls, CO (Hero [Kc] [Jc]) calls, BB checks

Flop [9h] [7s] [4d] $1.75: check, check, Hero bets $1.75, BB folds, MP3 calls

Turn [Jh] $5.25: check, Hero bets $4, MP3 calls

River [Jd] $13.25: check, Hero bets $4, MP3 raises to $17, Hero calls

MP3 wins $47.25 with [7h] [7d]

Hmrmph....The guy shows no aggression whatsoever on a board with straight and flush draws and sandbags me on the river. I was thinking of checking behind but thought I'd get value if he was calling with something like 9x or even 7x

Interesting session today. Started off pretty good on one of the NL50 tables which was a total rockfest, so I opened out a little and played a solid 20/8. I was able to get some ridiculous raises through even from late MP and pick up the blinds. I was soon 40BB up and cruising when I lost a couple of hands to shorties which put me back down to even.
From then on it was a pretty frustrating session of dead cards. I am sooooo sure I got a lot of sets heading my way, I'll tell ya. Well anyways got the mother of all sets late in this monster 1k hand session.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (7 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

SB ($47.45)
BB ($29.60)
UTG ($72.60)
MP1 ($37.15)
Hero ($72.40)
CO ($30.75)
Button ($19.10)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with [Ac], [As].
UTG calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $2.5, 2 folds, SB calls $2.25, 1 fold, UTG calls $2.

Flop: ($8) [3c], [6c], [Ad] (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $8, SB folds, UTG raises to $16, Hero calls $8.

Turn: ($40) [8s] (2 players)
UTG bets $22, Hero pushes, UTG calls.

River: ($148) [2d] (2 players)

Final Pot: $148

I knew straight away when he min-raised me he had a set. I played with him a lot and pretty much know his game. Total rock. Won't play a big pot unless he thinks hes got the nuts. Anyway he shows 33 and I take down a set over set.

I also made my very first straight flush. Yeppers after nearly 2 years finally improved my best ever hands from the quad As which I've had a few times. I played the hand like crap though, but I just wanted to get it to showdown. I rivered a 5hi straight club-flush with me holding 42s in the BB.

Only had one other big hand which is the following. Got called a donk for this, don't think so though.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (10 handed) from (Format: Bet The Pot)

Button ($97.50)
Hero ($100.95)
BB ($81.95)
UTG ($104.65)
UTG+1 ($103.30)
UTG+2 ($73.60)
MP1 ($5.50)
MP2 ($165.10)
MP3 ($111.35)
CO ($95.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [9s], [7s].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $1, 6 folds, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($3) [As], [3s], [Jd] (3 players)
Hero bets $3, BB folds, UTG+1 raises to $6, Hero calls $3.

Turn: ($15) [8s] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $15, Hero calls $15.

River: ($45) [Kh] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $45, Hero calls $45.

Final Pot: $135

Results in white below:
Hero has 9s 7s (flush, ace high).
UTG+1 has Ah Kd (two pair, aces and kings).
Outcome: Hero wins $135.

I guess this is a classic case of me missing BB/100 here. Should I push the river for less than a full raise? Well, I was thinking I was ahead but his river bet was pretty strong so I just called expecting to win most times but saving some bb/100 for those times which I lost. Villain here was 38/0.5/whatever over 200 hands. He raised one hand and you guessed it AA. Anyways he starts laying into me about how I shouldn't be playing 97. He soon shut up when I told him it only cost me half a bet to see the flop and he was giving me odds with his weak ass flop raise. This is something I've never done before but he just wound me up calling me a donk. Never ever been called that before on the tables.
Anyways finished the session up $130 for a 17BB/100 session. Pretty good, continuing the good start to the month

So, who's right in this debate about WtSD?? Let the cash do the talking.

My WtSD% in full ring was around 25% as I recall. My W$SD was about 51%.

WtSD% is a stat that needs to be read in the context of the others - a low Vi$iP and low PR will tend to increase the expected WtSD% figure, whilst a very high aggression rating (if backed up with large bet sizes) will tend to reduce it. The most important stat to read it in conjunction with though is W$SD.

A player who is 15%WTSD/60%W$SD is almost always weak tight.
A tight player who is 15%WTSD/ 50W$SD is going wrong somewhere. If you are only seeing one in 7 flops, then only seeing one in 7 of those to showdown it means you are goign to showdown only once in every 50 hands or so.. to lose as many of those as you win seems to imply that you are picking the wrong spots (your W$SD% should be higher as you are only playing good starting hands and aren't going to the end with them much). Either folks are getting out of your way too much and only calling you down with a striong hand or you are misplaying the river and folding when you shouldn't and calling when you shouldn't..that said if you are taking down good PTBB/100 and have a W$WSF above 35% you might just be getting a little too much respect to win lots of SD's but enough to make it up in winning a lot of small pots...

Thanks to the NL forum, I think the problem of my Wtness is due to playing at UB, so as soon as I've spent my points (about 17k) I'll probably be there long enough to clear the $400 or so in bonus left to clear which will take about 16k hands and that'll be that. Thursday I opened up an account on crypto site Sun Poker via a rakeback deal of 32% and play a few hands on the NL£50 tables. Got about 70 or so hands played just to get used to the software. I can say that I don't reckon much to the slider but I guess I'll get used to it. As well as the rakeback, I'm also eligible for the $50 first time deposit and $40 monthly bonus which is all good.

Wednesday played in the fortnightly home game I attend. Played 3 NL tournaments, 9-handed with £4, £5 and £6 buyins, t2500 to start with blinds of 25/50 going up every 10 minutes. I played pretty well but only managed to cash 3rd in the 2nd tourney due to some major sucking out on my hands when I got all-in.

1st tourney, didn't get many hands until I was a short stack. Then I got AA and just picked up the blinds, 88 and picked up the blinds. Then the final hand 88 UTG. I pushed for the t1200 or so I had left and got called in the BB with AT. An A came on board and I was out in 6th.

2nd tourney I picked up quite a few pots and developed a good stack of around 7k but the hand that finished it all was when I had A9 on BTN or SB, can't remember now, still 5 handed at this stage. I raised up to about 2.5k. BB came back over the top and I called his all-in only for him to show me A3s thinking I was on a steal. He made his flush and I was crippled. I eventually limped into 3rd place and got knocked out on a bizarre hand when I was holding 55 v 77 v JJ. The JJ which was BB from previous hand held up and took us both out to win. I won £8 for 3rd place

3rd tourney was pretty dire, lost a pot early on which cost me about t1000 and couldn't catch a hand after that, very uneventful.

We'd discussed the previous time about going to the local casino to try out a tourney there, a £10 PLHE with unlimited rebuys. Sounds fun so we confirmed everything and 6 of us went down on Friday to test our skills against the local competition. Report to follow.

I've been at the crypto sites for about 1 week now. I've cleared the Sun Poker bonus of $50 initial deposit + $40 monthly bonus and also claiming 32% rakeback as well. So since I cleared that one, I set up an account with InterPoker with a similar deal and am now working through the $100 monthly bonus which I'm about 20% the way through now.
The move from UB has indeed been fruitful, hopefully not a honeymoon period as I'm running at about 12PTBB/100 (24BB/100) in this time. My winningest hand is amazingly AK, I've not even been paid off with a set yet in 1500 hands, so God help em when I start hitting. Also my BR has gone over 6k now, woooot!!

The CR all-in on the turn is my biatch !!!!!!

He was kinda laggy and his flop call and turn bet looked kinda weak so I put him in

This chick had been donking off here there and everywhere blaming it on the cards. She told me she had TT after the hand and accused me of slow playing and being tricky....well errrrr yeah, good innit

This guy was a donk, I'd seen him previously min raising TP2K and 2PTK type hands before so I didn't believe him for a monster. However, I wanted a safe turn to put him in.

Well, so far I've been running real good at the cryptos, I've moved to NL100 full time now, 3 tabling and working my way through the monthly bonuses as I do it. I've cleared Sun Poker for $50, Interpoker for $100 and PokerPlex for $50, will probably get 2 or maybe 3 others in before month end, just started on Littlewoods. It's such a pain in the butt there though, since my Neteller a/c is in US$ and the site cashier is in GBP, gonna be difficult to keep my daily accounts.
Like I said, running good, my play is improving steadily, going at just over 7PTBB/100 over 4k hands now so really pleased with the progress. On the month I'm up nearly $1200 too which is my best month by far.

The one thing I've noticed about the cryptos is that they play not disimilar to UB, pretty tight and passive preflop. The difference is post flop chips fly around a lot more in pots which means I tend to get paid more. Already I'm getting respect there among the regulars.

The WtSD and W$SD issue is still on my mind. Since playing the cryptos it's shifted to 13/56 which is pretty wierd and makes me look hella WT which I don't believe I am. I did have one long session where I only went to SD like 2 or 3 times after the flop, not because I was folding but because villains were folding and not to much heat either so I think this has really skewed my first figure. I'm gonna look to get it up to around 17/57 which I'd be happy with but I'm not going to let it bother me now. I have amended my river play so we'll see what difference that makes.

Just finished a long session to clear the PokePlex bonus 750 hands tonight, 250 yesterday and I finished up $138 tonight (was down $80 at one stage) and up $230 inc bonus in the 1k hands it took to clear it which it pretty dam good if you ask me. Just about to start Littlewoods now which will take slightly less. 200MPP = 800 hands which is about 3.5 hours work.

Finished off last night with about 200 hands on Littlewoods, got about 1/4 of the way through the bonus which I'll finish off today. Came across this little gem, shame it wasn't the [4c] on the river..... :D

Overall an excellent day, up $240 inc bonus \:D/

Just given back the $200 I won yesterday :(

I ran AQ into a laggy AK, raised pot on Axx flop for about $60
KK into AA for $60
lost 88 to 79 on 789 flop when he turned a 9 for $100, that was brutal
also lost other crappy AK type hands to shorties which cost around $60 total as well

But i cleared the Littlewoods bonus for $45 and got another one going as well, half way through that one already.
