Short session tonight. I'm actually enjoying these short sessions (1.5 hrs or less) that i'm having recently, helps that i'm winning anyways.
First hotd here was very odd post flop play was just horrible by both villains, I just kept calling their shitty little raises, scared to push too much in by the looks of it but they kept me in anyways. Dumb ass me though has to get all excited when i hit and lead the river, horrible play

I somehow managed to keep my winning streak going now at 14 sessions since Aug 1. Today was the closest I've come to losing it. Started off with this AA hand

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

SB ($9.50)
BB ($81.70)
UTG ($26.35)
UTG+1 ($27.30)
UTG+2 ($11.10)
MP1 ($69.15)
MP2 ($142.75)
MP3 ($21.45)
Hero ($45.50)
Button ($27.60)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [Ah], [As].
UTG calls $0.50, 5 folds, Hero raises to $2.25, 3 folds, UTG calls $1.75.

Flop: ($5.25) [3h], [Td], [6s] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $5.5, UTG calls $5.50.

Turn: ($16.25) [Kd] (2 players)
UTG bets $3, Hero puts UTG all-in for $18.60 total, UTG calls.

River: ($53.45) [4d] (2 players)

Final Pot: $53.45

Results in white below:
UTG has 3s 3c (three of a kind, threes).
Hero has Ah As (one pair, aces).
Outcome: UTG wins $53.45.

So I was stuck $30 down right from the start. I floated for most of the session $45-$50 down mainly due to not hitting anything, getting pushed off hands and generally being card dead. At one point my VP$IP for the whole session was at just under 8 and that was after 200 hands.
Chatted to AlexMR on one table and he didn't seem to be having much luck either, still in his downswing.
Getting towards the 2 hour mark which is a lot longer than I've been playing in a single session recently I managed to make nearly all of it back (bar 85c) thanks to a good little calling station muppet.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

MP1 ($46.75)
MP2 ($32.30)
MP3 ($84.05)
CO ($13.85)
Button ($29.90)
SB ($50.35)
BB ($48.05)
UTG ($23.20)
Hero ($50.70)
UTG+2 ($16.15)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [Ac], [Jc].
UTG calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50, 3 folds, MP3 calls $0.50, 3 folds, BB raises to $1.5, UTG calls $1, Hero calls $1, MP3 calls $1.

Flop: ($6.25) [5c], [Kc], [Jh] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $4.5, MP3 folds, BB calls $4.50, UTG folds.

Turn: ($15.25) [2c] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $11, BB calls $11.

River: ($37.25) [Qd] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero puts BB all-in for $31.05, BB calls.

Final Pot: $99.35

Results in white below:
BB has Kh Qs (two pair, kings and queens).
Hero has Ac Jc (flush, ace high).
Outcome: Hero wins $99.35.

That was a loose pre-flop call for me, not normally on I usually make but I just thought I'd peel one off and see what happened.
I was determined to make it back in that lovely PT green so I gave myself 30 minutes after that to make it back above even. Didn't take too long to get this hand

Ended the session up $13

Well, it had to end. The current winning streak is at an end. Tonight I lost the session to the tune of $15 and it was down to a bad decision on my part. I pushed with a full house after a min raise on the river and got stacked to a higher fh. He did well to call me as he didn't have the nuts but I just knew I was beat. More on that later.

A quick update of the weeks events: Sunday I withdrew $1500 from UB back into my Neteller a/c ready for any bonus whoring that I might start doing again, UB is due another reload. I still have $50 of bonus money to clear at UB and thought I had to clear before withdrawing but thanks to the folks on here, found out I didn't need to. After all I've played solidly there for the last 3 months so they shouldn't have a problem with it.

Monday I signed up with PokerShare after seeing a mention in the Online Sites section. It's a UB skin only just launched but with the added attraction of 100% deposit bonus up to $250 and a kind of rake back promotion in the form of shares in the company which are cashed in every 3 months. Don't fully understand it myself at the moment until I find out what these "share points" are actually worth. shame you can't merge accounts with UB so I'm playing under a different handle but very similar to my regular UB one.
So I duly deposited $250 and have another $250 in pending bonus now to unlock

On to tonight and this was the first poker I'd played in nearly a week. Felt good to have a break but was itching to get back to the tables. Here are the HOTDs

First up: Tricky AA hand

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (8 handed)

Hero ($50.90)
Button ($32.95)
SB ($50.50)
BB ($44.80)
UTG ($21.70)
UTG+1 ($64.15)
MP1 ($31.30)
MP2 ($72.75)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [As], [Ad].
2 folds, MP2 raises to $2, Hero raises to $8, 4 folds, MP2 calls $6.

Flop: ($16.75) [9h], [Ts], [8h] (2 players)
MP2 bets $4, Hero raises to $20, MP2 calls $16.

Turn: ($56.75) [7d] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($56.75) [2h] (2 players)
MP2 bets $15, Hero calls $15.

Final Pot: $86.75

Results in white below:
MP2 has Qh Qc (one pair, queens).
Hero has As Ad (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins $86.75.

I was ready to be stacked here. I figured MP2 for a high PP or AK after him calling my re-raise, but how high I wasn't sure and was ready to either get away from the hand or face getting stacked early in the session.

Stacked by a higher FH

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

Final Pot: $92.30
Results in white below:

Outcome: CO wins $89.30.

I just knew it as well, I almost got away from it after that min raise. My finger was over the call button for like.. ever and at the last second, thought no way, he can't have, I was putting him on something like A5 which was dumb, I wasn't putting him on that hand at all, he had 66,77 or 88 but it was what I wanted to put him on. My first lack of discipline in 3 weeks and it lead to a stacking. Ugh

Misplayed KK

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

Flop: ($11) [2s], [4c], [Ts] (3 players)
BB bets $5.5, Hero raises to $15, UTG+1 raises all-in to $61, BB folds, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $46.50

Results in white below:
No showdown. UTG+1 wins $46.50.

God only knows why I flat called BBs raise. I was going for the limp re-raise and either bottled the push or lost concentration for whatever reason and as soon as I did it I was like WTF?!? hope no-one else calls but they did and it had to be the bst player on the table as well. It was pretty obvious after the re-re-raise on the flop he hit top set, doubt very much he'd come over the top like that without the nuts.

What to do with JJ

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

Hero ($52.95)
MP1 ($91.35)
MP2 ($10.60)
MP3 ($67.75)
CO ($53.20)
Button ($49)
SB ($32.85)
BB ($24.50)
UTG ($48.80)
UTG+1 ($52.75)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with [Jd], [Jc].
1 fold, UTG+1 raises to $1, Hero raises to $3, 7 folds, UTG+1 calls $2.

Flop: ($6.75) [7d], [9c], [6d] (2 players)

Turn: ($20.25) [5c] (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

River: ($20.25) [Qd] (2 players)
UTG+1 bets $4.25, Hero calls $4.25.

Final Pot: $28.75

Results in white below:
UTG+1 has 9s Ks (one pair, nines).
Hero has Jd Jc (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins $28.75.

UTG+1 was very raisey..about 10-11% I decided to have a pop back at his min-raises and see where I stood. Maybe should have raised a bit higher, but I did the job in isolating him at the very least. . His continuation bet was strong but I just wasn't buying it and felt I was ahead. I put him on 2 over cards to the flop or possibly something like A9 or even A7, no overpair to me as he'd have pushed back PF, med pair possible but wasn't buying those either, he min raises with paint. Turn was a bit scary and was glad he checked ready to check call on the river. Always hate JJ never quite know how to play it. Probably should have raised the flop and seen where I was but it would have been sods law that I'd get stacked doing it.

Bonus nearly brought the session even, so managed to get away with a bit of indiscipline (rustiness maybe).

Tonight was frustrating to start with, down about $15 pretty much straightaway getting cards, but not hitting or coming up against better hands. My W$SD was only 33% for the session (2 of 6) but I did manage to come slowly back into it as I eased into the session, then at the 100 minute mark, got my hand to make the session positive and respectable.

ok, converter not working for this hand

i'm in MP with 88, 4 limp into the flop (UTG, Hero, CO, SB, BB for free)
flop ($2.50) 3Q8 (2 dmds) check, check, minibet, I raise pot, only SB calls
turn ($9.50) Kh SB bets pot, I push, SB calls
river (~$55) Js
SB flips Kd 4d

$20 added tonight and i hit $2200

Am I psychic or what????!!!!! Look at my previous entry. I said UB was due a reload. Guess what happened a couple hours ago.....blingy blong, I get a mail saying UB reload!!!! I push $800 and get the max $200 bonus. I've now got $500 of pending bonus to clear between UB and Pokershare. In't free money brilliant!!!

I just had my best session ever at the NL50 level, breaking a couple of personal records:
Most won in a session $174 (3hrs)
Largest pot $123.15.
The first hour I was just card dead and struggled between $10 up and $10 down, chatted to Alex when he sat down at my table (made the observation that the same players were sitting on all 3 tables we were at which was strange) then I just kicked off with some perfect poker brought about by this hand.

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

CO ($38.45)
Button ($50)
SB ($65.10)
BB ($32.85)
UTG ($39.20)

MP1 ($44.50)
MP2 ($20.30)
Hero ($47.75)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with [Qc], [Qd].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 2 folds, MP2 calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.75, 4 folds, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls $2.25.

Flop: ($6.75) [8h], [4s], [7c] (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets $5, MP2 raises to $15, Hero puts MP2 all-in for $17.55 total, MP2 calls.

Turn: ($39.80) [6h] (2 players)

River: ($39.80) [7s] (2 players)

Final Pot: $39.80

Results in white below:
MP2 has Tc Th (two pair, tens and sevens).
Hero has Qc Qd (two pair, queens and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins $39.80.

A pretty easy call, AA and KK he would have pushed back and he slow plays sets so i knew he had to outdraw me to win (if he had 65, good luck) though it was a scary board at the end.

Record pot with set over set

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (10 handed)

I was only really worried about 1 hand when the money went in and that was 98. If he had TT then so be it, i'm destined to be stacked. He had more potential hands I beat than I lost to QQ, JJ, 66, 33, 67

Hero has Th Kd (three of a kind, kings).
UTG has Ks 3s (three of a kind, kings).
Outcome: Hero wins $43.25.

I'm certain this poor LAG would have raised PF (11%) with anything that beat me AK, KQ, KJ, JJ so I correctly put him on a crappy kicker and just hoped he didn't suckout a boat. I outplayed him several times after this encounter, most of the time with nothing.

CO has Kc Kh (two pair, kings and nines).
Outcome: Hero wins $83.55.

The first 3 hands all came on one table within 20 minutes, I was about $100 up for a long time before this last hand. Just capped the session off very nicely.
As for losing hands there weren't that many. Just the typical AK and AQ which didn't have their continuation bets respected and had to give up on this after being unimproved.
Only hand I was doubtful on was JJ which I called in the BB after a raise (CO) and a call (Button). Flop was TTx. I led out with a pot sized bet, raiser folds (great, my pot) then button min raises me (Ugh). WT maybe but I feel he could only make that raise with a T.

I looked at my stats after this session and found some awesome figures in there.
Hands: 679
VPIP: 12.5
PFR: 2.65
WWSF: 43 (This all came in my rush after that monster pot, betting regardless and bullying a little)
W$SD: 87 (Only glitches here were shitty little blind hands that got checked down and I was forced to SD)
PFA: 12.2 (F: 12.3, T: 21, R: 3) ridiculous figures
Amt Won: $174
PTBB/100: 25.7 (51.4).

If only these kind of stats were sustainable!!!!

Well after my record win on Monday, its been a very disappointing end to the month. I dropped $60 on Tuesday and another $30 today. This makes a total balls of my monthly stats.
The main reason for this is due to bad play and letting my aggression rule. As you know I've actively worked on this for the past couple of months and feel it's at a decent level now, but the last couple days my river game has been off losing me a combined 2 stacks of 4 hands. I would still have lost the hands but probably saved about $60 if I had toned down the river raises.

Tuesday 30 Aug

The session was going good and was about $20 up with plays like this

This was fun

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (8 handed)

CO ($19.20)

SB ($20.40)
BB ($43.95)
Hero ($46.85)

MP2 ($39.20)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with [Ac], [Ad].
Hero calls $0.50, 2 folds, MP2 raises to $2.25, CO calls $2.25, 2 folds, BB calls $1.75, Hero raises all-in to $46.85, MP2 folds, CO folds, BB folds.

Final Pot: $9.25

All 3 of them took the full time and attempted to grill me on my play. Really funny.

Raising a weak continutation bet

Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.50 BB (9 handed)

Button ($49.95)
SB ($46.75)

UTG ($18.50)

MP1 ($28.60)
MP2 ($41.15)

Flop: ($5.75) [3s], [Tc], [8s] (2 players)
MP2 folds, is folds, Button bets $3, Hero raises to $8, Button folds.

Final Pot: $16.75

Then ran into these 3 beauts and my dumbass play started

The last 2 hands came within 5 minutes of each other. I quickly got off the tables after this

Wednesday 31 Aug

Just couldn't get anything going here today at all, totally card dead and missing flops. Managed to with a smallish pot with a flopped set early on, then about $20 down due to crap cards. Then got even thanks to flopping trips and turning a boat which also gave villain broadway straight. Too bad he was a short stack.
Then my dumbass play hit again

I really thought I had the best hand here. I hadn't put villain on a draw after cold-calling the flop raise.

This weekend has been good to me at the tables, no play on the 1st, but last 3 days have all been positive and I'm off to a great start for the month. Went out with some friends last night and they were telling me all about the home games they've been to recently. They start off playing a limit (ugh!) tourney with £10 buyin and then after that a £2 NL ring game. Sounds fun but need to try and change my day off from work to be able to go.
Back to my progress.

Hmmm, dunno what villain was thinking here. Did he have 33 maybe or monster draw, strange he folded I thought. He'd already put in $27 into the pot leaving $23 to call me. Unless he had an accurate read on me he surely should have called. Yes???

+$101 for Sunday in 3h15

Just read all the shit about UB reducing its points system, that really does suck. I played nearly 40 hours last month for about $180 bonus, for me thats about $1.5/hr/table. It was going to take 3 months to clear the $500 I've got pending between UB and Pokershare (PS), going to be slightly more now, maybe 4 months but will have to monitor it. Today I made $12.28 bonus in 3h15 which works out at $1.25/hr/table so not that much less. I can imagine at higher stakes it would chop the bonus rate right in half. I'll be playing on PS for the next week so I'll see if it's the same, still got the old system on their website.

Hi Alex, thanks for reading and for the encouragement.
In answer to your questions, I've only been at NL50 since August 1st so even with my current bankroll, I wouldn't feel comfortable moving up to NL100 just yet. I've had a good start to the month, going at 14.2PTBB/100 over 2000 hands and 10 hours but I want to get at the very least another 2 full months at the NL50 level first. At the earliest it will be November 1st. Hopefully my BR will be at around 3.5k and I'll be able to sustain a couple of hits while settling in.
I'm glad you have come through your massive downswing, seems like you are doing real well now. Good luck :) and see you at the tables.

I ended up even last night, I just don't seem to be hitting cards the last couple of sessions, my VP$IP is down, my W$WSF is down and being a tight player anyway its pretty frustrating folding hand after hand. What made it worse last night was that I was about $30 up in the session, going some way to repairing Mondays damage and then I frittered it away thanks to missing flops, trying to get tricky with CRs and the odd marginal PF call. I find it funny as well that when multitabling, on one table I can be having all the cards and be well up, while on the other I'm getting no cards and well down, never seems to be even across the tables.

Lookng at my stats for the session, on one table I had a VP$IP of 3.7 yes you read that right. I played just 4 hands, won them all and even picked up a groundskinner on the side. Just too bizarre.

Only one HOTD which was actually quite amusing I thought

Called that on a draw heavy board against 2....ok...whatever

I'm actually very happy with the way I played. I was ahead in 3 of those hands, behind in 1 but no way to get away from it, and behind in another but with lots of outs. So overall I don't think it was too disaterous and I'm not kicking myself at any of my plays which is good. The only negative now is my BR for the month, totally destroyed in the last 4 days. What was an excellent start to the month (+11PTBB/100) up until last weekend has now vanished up my arse.
