Put in some more time at martins last night and lost 50 after being up 50. It was a series of suck outs and a little loose call tilt. So close to it being over. Rhound keeps telling me about these other good B2B bonuses and they can shove them up their asses because i'm done with that site as soon as I get another 800 points.

Played pokerstars for a couple hours, mostly card dead except for this one hand and finished up 12 bucks. sweet.

Poker Stars
Pot Limit Omaha Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$1
9 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $62.25
UTG+1: $42.20
MP1: $138.25
Hero: $107.10
MP3: $62.15
CO: $30.70
Button: $339.05
SB: $41.35
BB: $81.95

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP2 with [8s] [7d] [8c] [9d]
UTG calls $1, 2 folds, Hero calls $1, 2 folds, Button calls $1, SB calls $0.5, BB checks.

Flop: [Qs] [Qd] [8d] ($5, 5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $3, Hero raises to $13.75, 3 folds, UTG calls $10.75.

Turn: [4c] ($32.5, 2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $30.9, UTG calls $30.9.

River: [Kc] ($94.3, 2 players)
UTG checks, Hero checks.

Results:
Final pot: $94.3

I'm pissed that i didn't put him all in on the river because you would think if he had the boat, he would have pushed into me. He had QTJx and left immediately after this hand.

its been a while since I updated this. There hasn't been too much i wanted to discuss but I guess that's no excuse since i'm keeping this journal to keep me serious with poker. I will admit i got pretty lazy with my hours recently but I put some more hours in then I was so that should be corrected soon.

I've decided that I will only play 8 max plo20, 50 and 100 games on martins to clear the bonus. I don't like 6 max and I know I can beat it by playing less tables but its not worth it since its not something i care to do. I'm almost done with the main 600 euro bonus and I have til about mid april to do it so shouldn't be a problem. I've decided I might do other b2b bonuses by just playing 8 max games and whatever I finish, i get the prorated amount if i don't finish. We'll see.

I did all 3 of the party bonuses for 75 each and only made 8 bucks in play thanks to some stupid suck outs. I only remember stacking people a few times while I got stacked with draws beating my sets, sets over sets when I can't get away (some just happen, a couple my own fault) and some ridiculous suck outs. I 8 tabled the 25's and 50's and did all the bonuses (about 4000-4500 total hands) in like 10 hours.

When i updated my notebook after the last week of play, I noticed i was killing the plo100 game for 52 and hour over 20 hours. Small sample but nice. However, I'm down in everything else, including 280 lost in AC at 1/2 nlhe in 2 bad hands.

There hasn't been much bonuses earned this month either. Except for party and stars, all the bonuses has been on non plo friendly sites.

Finally, played a little more than an hour tonight on plo100 stars and couldn't get much going and lost 80. Didn't really phase me which i guess is good. In the past, that would have hurt but not anymore. I've got it through my head that its gonna happen, i'm gonna lose and 80 is not that much playing 4 plo100 tables. Don't think about it as money terms but as less than 1 buy in.

Well, that's a big step for me so now that i made that step, its only a matter of time til I should become really successful, hopefully enough to do this professionally.

Some hands of possible interest:

Converter isn't working, deal with the mess.

Anyone paying attention would know what I got. Does anyone think someone plays JT this way? It worked this time but it was probably best off just leading out again on the turn and hoping he hit and raises me.

played a little martins last night as couple 8 max tables were going but soon died. I made one stupid mistake on the 50 table doubling up a 30 stack with top two against his mid set which he slowplayed til the turn. they don't do that on any other site really. I made a minor mistake on the 100 table and didn't get full value. Ended down about 30 euros for the 30 minutes.

Played a little more than an hour on stars and won 120 after being up 200 almost immediately. Lost a wrap draw against a short stack's aces but no big deal.

I like to push people out like this. waiting for the turn and seeing what happens saves you money when it turns bad and makes you money when you are splitting.

I actually don't expect to get paid off here too many times so even my flop call was a bit marginal but i'm getting almost 4 to 1 so i call. If there wasn't the other caller, i would lead out the turn since i didn't want to give a free card but I just thought he might have the flush too or at least bet with position. My check raise was to get the other guy out of there if he had two pair or a set and charge the better the same if he had it too. Plus, if he calls the turn, he has to call the river no matter what. He ended up having the Q high flush so it worked out real nice this time.

I'm probably play some tonight. we'll see. AC tomorrow where I will hopefully not lose 280 again. I think i'm gonna try the 2/4 limit full kill O8 game at the taj and just have some fun there. I don't know the game that well but neither do the players either so its alright. I didn't do too bad last time and now i got my bearings.

Went to AC this weekend to meet up with Allstar but he couldn't make it due to complications with the bacelor party. I played 2/4 limit O8 because i didn't feel like dealing with the stress of nlhe. I walked away with 21 bucks due to some cold cards and losing half a monster pot when my nut flush on the turn got rivered by a straight flush. It was a good time though and i was asked if i was a pro two times in all seriousness. That was nice.

Lost a small chunk on martins over the weekend working on the bonus which is now 200 points from complete and i have about 3 weeks to do it. I hope to be done by the end of the month so i can get the biggest bonus for hands played in a month rather than splitting them.

I lost a $20 3 way tourney with my friends. I made big money on bluff since they don't expect me to bluff at all. Blinds50/100 and i raise to 300 from the button with J6s. I have been folding all the crap i've been getting so i'm not constantly raising but they both call, crap. Flop is J33 with 2 spades and the sb bets out 300. One fold and i just call thinking i have the same two pair as him, but he has a better kicker but i can get him to fold later. pushing the flop would seem to obvious. Turn completes the spade draw. He checks, i push all in for the 1300 i have left. He folds and we rabbit the river and its a K and i would have split with his QJ. I figured i had some outs to split even if he called. I showed and they were amazed.

I get 3 good hands the whole time, QQ, JJ and TT, all that win me the blinds. I get A7 in the bb and the button (the guy with the QJ hand) raises a little more than the minimum. I call. Flop is KK8 and I was gonna represent the K so i check, waiting to check raise him. He checks. Turn is Ace, i check, he still check but i sense he has the A. River is a blank, i check again, he bets 500, i push, he folds, i show again and he would have won. Normally these aren't smart bluffs but i get so much respect from him sometimes, its easy to do it. I show because i hope to keep him off balance and get paid from some hands i do make.

I go into heads up with 2:1 chip lead and get him down to 3.5:1 when i raise J9s and he pushes and i have to call. he has AA. I flop a gutshot AND flush draw and miss both. I wittle him down again to almost 2:1 and he doubles up with 66 vs my A5. I then lose when he calls my all in when i have a pair, when he had a oesd and 5 high 4 card flush draw on the turn and hits a flush on the river to win. He called a big all in raise there with just a draw, ace high on a board that already has straight and flush out there. WTF? I guess showing him may have hurt me but i think he was just tired of playing and didn't care anymore.

I was gonna play on stars last night but the games were dead so i deposited in party as their 100's were pretty juice. Well, i was up 185 in less than 2 hours and could have been up much more. one stupid bluff by me for about -30 and then one big wrap that missed costing me 35 to chase but would have stacked him if i hit.

Had a couple good sessions last night. I tried to play martins to finish off the bonus before the end of the month but it was just full of 6 max tables which i said i would refuse to play anymore even though i only had 200 more points to go. So i go to party and stars and party's tables look better so i jump in on them. I make some plays, get up 50 and then lose it all back when my set runs into a rivered flush but oh well. Then this beauty.

I am praying to hit a set in this huge pot and I do along with the ace which can be bad but since i got one, less likely he has AA (but not impossible) but this guy raises ALOT of hands, you can can see by his 4433 raise. I go for the check raise thinking someone here has to bet but no. I go on the turn ready to take my chance against someone with the wheel and he raises me. Since i know the range of hands he could raise and that he will be the flop if he hit it and not slowplay AA, I cringe and call thinking he's got the wheel here 50% of the time. I see the board pair and know he doesn't have quads because he would have bet the flop. He calls me a clown which he does to anyone he either beats, outdraws, or outdraws him. I explain that if having the best hand preflop, on the flop, turn AND river means i'm a clown, i thank you for the compliment.

this was a nice one too. He chased an overpair and a gutshot on a paired board and actually hit but here come quads to the rescue. NIHAN.

I then stopped after a little under 2 hours up about 90 as i bled some away with blinds and such.

I decided to look at martins again and saw a few juicy tables going, although 2 of the 4 were 6 max and 2 wer plo20, 1 plo50 and 1 plo100. I figured i wanted to finish this bonus off and i would see how far these table could take me. Well, i finished the god damn bonus! I made about 100 euros doing it too. If i didn't run top boat into quads and get all in for over 2x stacks on plo20 (when i should have just called), i would be up even more.

Overall, that makes me down about 30 euros in play on martins but up almost 850 in bonus. i can live with that especially since at one point i was down more than 300 euros in play and recently adjusted well enough on the site to show those damn slowplay playing, tricky europeans how we americans play omaha. Fuck yeah. Can you tell i'm happy? haha.

So yesterday was up about 210 in real money and finished a 600 euro bonus. Not bad. I will see about the empire bonus as 200 bucks is just too much to ignore for 1400 raked hands. I can do that although i'm busy this weekend, i'll make some time.

quick update. finished the empire bonus after a gueling 13 hours on the plo25 tables. The first session was nothing but bad beats and bleeding. There were a few where i made a bad play or i got in with top set vs big draw and lost but that's what happens but nothing went my way til this hand.

Well, with those odds, lets hope i can outdraw a straight and no one else has a set. of course i got lucky but this is not a pot you normally see on these rocky tables.

Then last night, i just ran over the empire tables. Seriously, i bet nearly every time it was checked to me in lp or i had any tp, overpair or draw and these people would just fold. I stole close to 100 pots. I did happen to make some has at the right time when people called on the flop but that was rare. I was played back at twice and i had to fold one and i had a hand the second time. At one point, i was 45% win if flop seen over about 400 hands and finished with 40% after 600+ hands as I released the bonus and finished up a measly 27 bucks in play after recovering from being down about 70. During that last period, i was up 45 in 4.5 hours basically just buying pots.

I don't know where i'm off to next but if there is no bonus i want to play, it will either be plo100 on party or stars, whichever has the nicer games. With the empire bonus and the release of the martins bonus this month, i'm already over what i need to pay bills and such so all profit from now on is bankroll and savings builder. Feels good.

for those of you waiting eagerly for me to update this journal i say to you "get a life."

this week was a bunch of break even, slightly up, slightly down, days until last night.

I start at intepoker just doing some casual whoring at the 1 plo100 and 3 plo25 tables they had. Earned some points but was down $47 in the most unbelievable string of cold cards i've seen in months. I was seeing 0% of flops on 3 of the tables and its not my fault. many of them were limping tables and my blinds happened to get raised. I was under 10% vpip overall and under 5% on the plo100 table over 330 total hands on all 4 tables. Yes, i know i can play overly tight compared to some but i would dare people to find 5-10 more hands at best to play during that time.

Players failed to notice how tight i was too when i pushed my AA overpair and nut flush draw on the turn that completed a straight but the guy still called me with bottom set. well, i guess he wasn't paying attention to my tight image.

My roommate and a friend decided to go to a club and invited me to go. I turned them down because i don't really like clubs plus i've been slacking on the hours and the tables on party looked juicy. More on their trip to the club later.

I sit down at 4 plo100 tables on party and i can't seem to lose. I lost one pot to a rivered straight against my top set that i didn't pay off (bluffed maybe, i doubt it) but everything else held to my amazement. They folded to my bets constantly or paid me off when i had them beat. I was up $450 in 90 minutes by the end.

I actually wanted to quit after an hour being up $225 since i was content but i forced myself to keep playing as i was playing well and the tables were good. I proceeded to double that profit until the tables died off. Real nice. This has been my problem, quitting early. I don't play longer when i'm losing than winning, its all how i feel but i have a greater tendency to stop playing once i book a good win because I'm afraid to lose it or something. Good thing that didn't happen this time.

Ok this one was my fault but didn't this guy get the memo about how things were going my way tonight? Cold called a max check raise with just a flush draw. I actually said to myself on the turn "this guy could have the flush draw after calling the flop" and pushed. Even when he pushed in the extra couple bucks, i knew he was that stupid to have the flush and willed the suck out.

I have this preflop raiser LAG wrapped around my finger. he does what i want him to do a lot, pays off when i have a hand and folds to me when i want him to. He doesn't seem to respect many people but will fold to me. most people, when he bets and gets raised, he's willing to get all in except against me it seems. He plays the 100's constantly and if you play there on party, i'm sure you know him. He's also got the temperment of Phil hellmuth, win or lose.

yes it does and here it is.

What can i say? it was one of those sessions that went my way. I've had 3 of them in the past 40 days so i'm def not complaining.

Now to my friends at the club. Apparently they were having a real good time, they were drinking it up, buying drinks for girls, dancing. They apparently each had like 2 girls at least just all over them and rubbing their arms and backs and such. Were they just their for the drinks? probably but who knows. They understand that but still, they had hot chicks all up on them so they weren't complaining.

Then the shit starts happening. My roommate's (Dan) ex girlfriend is sitting across the bar (this place is packed so its no big deal) with this guy who apparently turns out to be her new boyfriend or something. At some point, the guy starts staring at Dan and he notices it, ignores it but he keeps staring and the guy eventually gives Dan the finger. WTF? So my friend Nelson, who was in vegas and some of you may know about from that, says "i'll go talk to him", since Dan doesn't need to get involved here. He goes to try to calm the situation. He goes over and explains to him that you don't fuck with Dan or there will be problems. Possibly using the line "or i will fucking kill you." If you know nelson, you know he will fuck someone up if you mess with him or his friends. Now the girl isn't doing anything to start this, its all the guy. Nelson goes back to dan but apparently, he gives the finger again. Dan is about to get the guy but nelson stops him and he goes over again. He tells him that he told him to stop it and he's giving him the last chance to calm down before he fucks him up.

Apparently this guy is drunk and says shit like "dan is an asshole and didn't know what he had with her." and shit like that. Dan comes wandering over with two more buddies that he came across at the club and stands behind nelson. The guy apparently still doesn't know dan is right there and keeps running his mouth and eventually says, while giving the finger to nelson "fuck you and fuck dan!" Well, that set dan off and from behind nelson comes a right haymaker smack into the guys jaw at full power. He goes down bleeding but not knocked out but in no condition to get up. Nelson says to the girl "no disrespect to you as we have nothing but love for you, but he deserved that" and they go to leave. Bouncers come by to escort them out but not forcefully since they were leaving on their own. According to dan, he thinks he felt something come loose in the guys jaw when he hit him so who knows what condition he is in.

They call me on the way home and tell me the story and when they get home, they re-enact it for me too. I wish i could have seen it but making money is nice too so it was a good night for all.
