I played almost 5 hours last night to clear the Party reload bonus. I didn't plan to play that long but I didn't have much to do and felt like playing. I had the biggest swings I've ever had playing so far. I got AA and KK cracked (once by piers and his 56o for a gutshot), I got AQ top two cracked by a flush draw that he paid WAY too much for, but I also won a stack against a moron with KK when he had JJ. I also sucked out on a couple pots, including a $120 one to bring me to about -$20 for the day after 1100 hands but I earned the $100 bonus so I'm up almost $80.

I definitely take that result as I was down as much as $150 at one point but I was also up as much as $50 until I lost 2 $100 pots that should have been mine. I played so many big pots and took so many swings, it really was exhausting. This could easily have been a +400 or -$250 night, not including the bonus. I'm not used to those swings and I'm definitely gonna take tonight off to just relax.

Party Poker's swings brought me down but then they brought me back up so I guess I can't complain that much. I have tons of hands now posted in the NL section because a semi-newb playing 1100 hands and taking so many swings in one night is gonna create a lot of questions.

I work a part time job in shorts and a t-shirt and I don't make $15.33/hour either. Go figure. Looks like you might be getting screwed more than me :D .

Went to AC on Saturday (plan to go this coming Sunday too) and sat down at the 1/2 $300 NL table. It was a pretty uneventful day. I was never down more than $12 but never up more than $80 as every time I make progress, I throw some of it away. I should have won one pot and lost less money in another but it wasn't too bad.

This sums up how my day went:

Get 99 in mp after a couple limpers so I limp, 4 see the flop. Flop is 79T with 2 clubs. Checked to me and I bet $10, 2 callers.

Turn is a J and they both check to me. I know one guy def doesn't have the straight by how he reacted but not sure about the other as he was somewhat solid so an 8 would be a plausible holding. I check.

Turn is an A, flush didn't complete. check, guy bets $20 into me and I decide to call knowing the other guy isn't a danger. He shows AJ for 2 pair and I win. A small pot that could have been much larger.

However, I did pull off a nice limp reraise with KK to win about $20 uncontested after many limpers and the BB raising it to $12, who does that a lot even from the blinds.

All he says is "that's a monster" and folds.

Finished up $61 as my friend busted out of his 2/4 limit table and didn't feel like rebuying so we left early.

Played a home game last night and won $42 over about 2.5 hours. There is a new housemate for the summer and he joined us and he paid me off quite nicely in 2 omaha hi pots. One I had top trips and Jack high flush draw to his 2nd set (which he thought was a boat because he paired a 3rd card from his hand til we reminded him he can only use 2 cards but he would have called anyway with a 44 on T43 board). I hit quads on the turn so it didn't matter anyway. I later won a couple nice pots in Omaha with AAxxss hands, one that tripped up and one that I was pretty sure was good. Each good for some decent pots as they were raised and multiway.

So, I finished the weekend up $103 so not too shabby and a good way to start the month. I have just enough in my neteller to deposit fully into party so I will be doing that and working off the stars bonus at some point (love that it doesn't have a time frame).

That's cool... I can understand reasons to NOT stay in AC (ie... it's a dirty craphole...). But, man, if I lived that close to a place running a 1/2 $300 max game, I'd be there every freakin weekend... :D But, that's just me, as I'm a total degenerate...

100th post in this topic! Sweet.

I haven't been playing online at all recently as I've been playing a lot of home game since a friend of ours is back from school in florida and he really likes to play. So far, we've had games sunday, monday and last night (weds). Along with my AC trip on saturday, this is alot of live playing. In the 3 home games, I am up $97 in about 9 hours so not too damn bad.

I deposited into stars and party to get the bonus but haven't played a hand. I hope to get a lot of this out of the way in combination of tonight, tomorrow and saturday. Then there is AC on sunday and possibly a home game on monday, tuesday and weds. Got a lot of poker coming up.

Got to finish the Party reload is a short amount of free time so I played a few sessions between last night and tonight for about 1000 hands. Many of the questionable ones are in the NL section (which is a lot). I finished up about $80 overall after a pretty much break even last 3 hours.

Here's some hands that worked out nicely.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.5 BB (10 handed)

UTG+2 ($70.15)
MP1 ($66.15)
MP2 ($35.51)
MP3 ($49)
CO ($97.7)
Button ($50.4)
SB ($43.95)
Hero ($78.5)
UTG ($32.95)
UTG+1 ($50.4)

Preflop: Hero is BB with [Jd], [9d].
UTG raises to $1, 8 folds, Hero calls $0.50.

Flop: ($2.25) [9h], [Th], [Js] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $2.5, Hero raises to $8, UTG calls $5.50.

Turn: ($18.25) [9c] (2 players)
Hero bets $10, UTG raises to $23.95 (All-In), Hero calls $13.95.

River: ($66.15) [Kh] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $66.15

Results in white below:
Hero has Jd 9d (full house, nines full of jacks).
UTG has 8d 8s (two pair, nines and eights).
Outcome: Hero wins $66.15.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.5 BB (10 handed)

UTG ($57.15)
Hero ($51.75)
UTG+2 ($18.05)
MP1 ($44.48)
MP2 ($29.5)
MP3 ($37.18)
CO ($51.45)
Button ($108.85)
SB ($50)
BB ($50)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with [9s], [9h].
1 fold, Hero calls $0.50, 3 folds, MP3 calls $0.50, 3 folds, BB raises to $2, Hero calls $1.50, MP3 calls $1.50.

Flop: ($6.25) [7d], [3h], [9d] (3 players)
BB bets $5, Hero raises to $15, MP3 folds, BB raises to $48 (All-In), Hero calls $33.

Turn: ($102.25) [Js] (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($102.25) [6h] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $102.25

Results in white below:
BB has Kh Kd (one pair, kings).
Hero has 9s 9h (three of a kind, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins $102.25.

Unfortunately, a lot more hands that I have questions than big hands for me. AC tomorrow and we'll see how I finish the week.

Kenny, look at my signature. Its my favorite hand too though I rarely play it.

I was at the Taj yesterday and quit after about 5 hours as my head wasn't in the game. My friends were still playing but I wasn't gonna sit there and play if I didn't feel like it. I was up $73 thanks to one big suck out by me and one guy that slowplayed his hand to a loser.

The suckout

I had been sitting there going slightly up, slightly down for a while as there were no cards or I would win a small pot, then call a raise with a small pp and miss bringing me to even.

I look down at TT UTG+1 and limp. This is probably wrong but there was a lot of raises being called and this hand was too vunerable for my taste put myself in that position. A kid (who was getting beat left and right with combination of his bad play and bad beats raises it to $10. There are 2 callers to me and I call. Flop comes 942 rainbow. Checked to me and I bet $20. The kid had $50 left so I thought he might push anything and I get heads up and if I lose, oh well. All 3 just call. Pot is now about $120. Turn is another 9 and its checked to me. Kid goes all in for $30 and they both fold so its just me. If he had AK, I gave him a chance to bluff and the pot is too big to walk away as the only hand he might have to raise with, I thought, was A9, so I call $30 into now a $180 pot. I only did this because the other two folded as I thought someone had a 9. River is the 3rd 9 and I suck out on the kid's 44 flopped set to win with a bigger boat.

The table goes nuts as they say that is the worst beat they have ever seen. On well. If he had more cash, I could have folded. It happens. I even said "I'll pay you off" when I
called.

The slowplay

I've been getting small pp all day, mainly 77, but none have hit. I limp in lp with 77 after a few limpers and we take the pot 5 or 6 handed.Flop is JT2 with 2 spades and its checked around

Turn is an offsuit 7. This kid (pretty good player) bets $15. Folds to me and I raise to
$45. He thinks a while and calls.

River is a blank - pots is about $100

He checks and I bet $50 and he shows JT as he folds, which I didn't expect.

Then he and the guy next to him starts to grill me as I didn't show my cards which is what he was hoping I do by showing his JT.

He said "you had 89 for the straight" I say "nope, I had you beat" He says "you have trips" I just say "I had you beat" The guy next to him says "you have JT or AJ" I just say "I had you beat" and then they just go on convinced I bluffed him out of that pot and I had nothing. I get respect from him during the hand as I haven't played much and then lose it all after. I like it. Too bad I got nothing after that and didn't play too much longer
as my head was out of the game.

2 other hands of interest that occured that didn't include me

Let's be friends

I posted this one in another post but found it interesting

About 5 people limp in for $2 including a young guy who isn't bad and this old calling station woman.

Flop is [Ad] [8d] [9c]

the kid bets $15 and the woman calls, everyone else folds

Turn [Jc]

Kid bets $20 and she raises to $55 which you know is a made hand since she's a calling station. They talk back and forth until the lady just says "I have a made hand, don't call" and then flips over her cards [Qd] [Tc]. She isn't all in nor is the kid. Then the kid turns over his had [Ac] [4c] and thinks about the call. I've never seen this and the dealer says nothing. The kid eventually folds I guess knowing he can't get anything out of her on the river if a club shows since she knows she would be beat. She would pay him off with here stack (about another $120) if he had called and hit.

No one said anything but this was the first time that I've seen it with money left to be bet. Maybe its against the rules but not enforced.

Worst Play I've Ever Seen

There was a laggy guy to my left playing a lot of hands and raising a lot. He raises big (to $22 cold) with a hand that's not too good but only to $7 or $12 with AA, KK or AK and such. I don't get involved with him at all for lack of cards and bad position. He doesn't know how to bet as he bets $20 into $100 pots and the most I've even seen him bet is $50 and he always seems to raise the minimum postflop.

One older guy to my right seemed solid and knew was he was doing. However, he did play 69s for a raise ($15 raise) after a couple callers and flopped the nut straight to trap a kid with AA for all his money. Not terrible but it was a bit marginal in my opinion. He also likes to raise the minimum.

I'm utg and fold. laggy guy raises to $17 and one caller and it folds around to older guy in the sb who callers and bb calls. flop comes 853, 2 hearts. checks to laggy guy who bets $20 and only older guy calls.

Turn is an offsuit ace. Pot is about $110. Older guy checks and laggy guy bets $30. older guy min raise to $60. Laggy guy immediately raises to $200 so $170 more to older guy who thinks for a long time. He says "i'm going all in or folding, just don't know which" He eventually goes all in (they both started with about $450 on a $300 buy in table) and laggy guy immediately calls. I put laggy guy on AA or AK (despite the preflop raise to think otherwise since i've never seen him this agressive after the flop) and older guy on a low set and he was thinking about a higher set. Boy was I wrong. Older guy had 34s for no flush draw and just a pair and gutshot and laggy guy had A8 for top two. River is a blank and laggy guy wins a huge pot.

Older guy just says "I thought you had nothing. I mean I had a pair and a pretty good draw." Wow. was I the only one paying attention that realized that laggy guy had at least a good pair? Also, when was a gutshot a good draw? Why can't I just get a set in these situations but rather against a guy who drops top two pair to a 1/2 pot bet?

God damnit.

LoL. I like that last one. Dontcha love when your in a monster pot and just waiting to see two monsters showdown against each other, only to find out one guy put all his chips in with a flush draw and an overcard, and the guywith middle pair and an openended takes it down, after you folded your top pair in the face of all the action?

This puts me in mind of a hand that i am still pist about to this day, and when i goto my local B&M, if either of the guys in the hand is playin, i cant help but throw in a mention of the only hand that ever caused me to get up outta my chair and yell 'what the fuck!!! You guys are terrible!!"

It was a 10/20 kill game, and this was a kill pot.

I am UTG and wake up to [8h] [8d] and i of course, yell LAIZE!!! and make it 2 bets. like 3 mizors cold call me and the kill does also, and 4 players take the flop...

[Ah] [8s] [5s] - pot $160

i am drooling of course, and hoping against hope that a couple of the mizors hold aces, maybe aces up, maybe theyll make an underboat on the turn...all this stuff runnin thru my head is makin my panties all wet. I bet, fold, raise, cold call call, I reraise, call, and randomly, the guy that originally cold called CAPS it. Now im thinking okay, im shure im best, im hopin people are drawing thin with 2prs or TPTKs and not flushie draws.

Turn is [7s] - pot $400

Im like fuck. But I bet anyway. First guy raises, last guy reraises. Now im thinking holy fucking shit, theyve both got flushes. I just call, and the next guy caps.

At this point, i make what may possibly have amounted to one of the most collossal mistakes in my poker career, but which those mizors probably werent smart enough to take advantage of, but who knows.

I yell 'pair the board!'

River comes [Jd] pot $880

or something crappie like that. I check, mid guy bets last guy raises. I think and think and am like fuck! and muck my hand. The middle guy looks down at his hand and smiles and says 'i think you got me beat but i gotta call'

Final pot, $1040

Im thinking, nut into second nut, or at least a decent flush into a baby flush, right?

Middle guy turns over [Ad] [Ks], and the last mizor turns over [Ac] [8c] and scoops it.

This is when i get up and yell something like 'holy fucking shit! you guys are awful! I had 88!' - and what the last guy said to me, (which is what made me think maybe i screwed myself when i said to pair the board)

'Were bad? Who laid down the best hand?'

Man o man, did i get tilted after that. Even when i left a 1k winner that night, i can honestly say i was still steamed about that pot - It was my first experience losing a pot over 1k - hehe - and certainly not my last.

okay sorry for the hijack- the authoritays can feel free to post it elsewhere.
