Right, on second thought, it'd be a bit unfair of me to not report my weekly summary, so here it is.
Total hours...45:28
End result...+$589
Hourly rate...$12.95/hour
Not a very good win-rate at all...but at least the week did end on a good note, after almost reaching the level of total disaster. I played nearly 6 hours prior to my cash-out today, and after the first 3 or 4, I was down about $500. But for a nice change of pace, I did not start throwing things, I didn't put my fist through the wall, didn't slam my mouse, or even utter a single vulgarity (shocking, I know!) Instead, I sat out for about 10 minutes, went for a walk and enjoyed the beautiful weather, and thought a bit about how I was playing. Got back in, and very first hand, I get AA!!! Folded to me in the big blind.
Anyway, last night, Piers witnessed me go utterly ballistic after I couldn't handle the suck-outs any longer, and admittedly, my play went to utter shit as a result. But today, I managed to keep myself together, continued to play solidly and with confidence, and by the time I was through, I had gone from $500 down to $200 up for the day. And quite honestly, that $200 feels better than the ~$1100 I managed a couple days ago.
So, anyway, I'm going into next week feeling as good about poker as I ever have, despite my rather mediocre performance this past week. I think after the drubbing I took yesterday, I completely expended my entire supply of "pissed off," so hopefully I've at least learned something about the importance of maintaining composure.
Of course, we'll reevaluate that statement the next time I lose $700 in a single day.
