Put in a couple hours upon getting back from work, netting me a cool 150 and putting me back in the black for the week. :D Nothing of too much interest to report, other than that QJs continues to be the hand that I give nothing but love, while it gives me nothing but pain. Had a fun little hand where I flopped the straight draw, turned the nuts, and my opponent rivered a runner-runner flush. To be fair, he didn't play it like a dunce (he also had top pair kings on the flop)...but this seems to be the type of shit that always happens to me with my beloved QJsoooooooted. I suppose I could stand to occasionally fold it...but...nah.

In my pokertracker database I've gotten QJs 39 times. My VP$IP with it is a comical 94.87%. I have lost a solid $141 with it.

If you wanna have a playing dominated hands contest just bring it. If I had the discipline to fold that or KT, I'd prolly be playing $100/$200 right now :D

Ever have one of those days where you got "Hold on tight to your dreams" stuck in your head and you just can't fucking get it out!? Man, I'm tellin ya...

Anyway, I played a nice little 3 hour session before my impending 11:00am bed time and managed to eventually prevail with an $86 victory. It was a bit of a silly session filled with being given all kinds of silly beats and chatting with all sorts of silly people...but apparently I had enough hands hold up to make a winner out of it. I was helped in large part by the ultimate 100% VP$IP calling station at one of my tables...granted, he outdrew me with some wacky rivered straights and two-pairs, but at least he always had the decency to check 'em down, regardless of whether they were the nuts. :D

Finally, I want to share with you YET ANOTHER HAND that completely fails to demonstrate why the hell I'm so damned hung up on QJsooooted. In this particular masterpiece, I decided to raise the filthy wench in the misguided hope that I could finally win a hand with it through sheer force of will. And for once, I hit my draw! But apparently there's a reason why people always tell ya not to draw on paired boards.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: TW is MP3 with [Qc], [Jc].
UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, TW raises, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (8.33 SB) [9c], [3c], [9h] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 bets, TW raises, BB calls, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: (7.16 BB) [Tc] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks, TW bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls.

River: (10.16 BB) [Ks] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks, TW bets, BB raises, UTG+2 folds, TW calls.

Final Pot: 14.16 BB

Results in white below:
BB has Th 9s (full house, nines full of tens).
TW has Qc Jc (flush, queen high).
Outcome: BB wins 14.16 BB.

And there ya have it. Note that even though my opponent boated on the unfortunate turn, I still had a POWERFUL straight-flush redraw...but somehow, my 2-outer failed to materialize. Shit!

Nevertheless, my records indicate that despite this and other follies, QJs is currently accounting for a STUNNING 1.6% of my total profit this month. Eat THAT, piers!

Well that was certainly quite the tale of two...ummmm...thingies! I started off very stagnant where I'd start to claw to about 50 or 60 up and then take some screwy beat, always at the same table...finally, though, the sun began to shine 'pon the flowered fields and rolling hills of Wadland, and I won some real beauts, mostly through devious suck-outtery. I wound up playing about 2 and a half hours and making a bit over 200, and DAMN does it feel great to be running good once again! :D

I can't resist posting some of these hands. First I'll go with the bad beats that brought me down, and then the bad beats that raised me up! :D

THE BAD: Note that these all took place at the same damned table.

HAND 1 : In which our hero finally removes the "Mr. Payoff" hat. This actually seems like MAYBE a time where paying off wouldn't be a cardinal offence, because who would call two cold with middle pair, or even be in with a frickin 8!? This guy, trust me. And he wouldn't checkraise without a big hand either.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: TW is Button with [Ad], [Qh].
3 folds, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, TW raises, SB calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (9 SB) [8d], [As], [6s] (4 players)
SB checks, MP2 bets, CO folds, TW raises, SB calls, MP2 calls.

Turn: (7.50 BB) [8c] (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 checks, TW bets, SB raises, MP2 folds, TW folds.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB

Results in white below:
No showdown. SB wins 10.50 BB.

HAND 2 : In which our unshakeable protagonist's Kings are cracked through treachery...but the teacherous opponent elects not to extract further profit.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: TW is UTG+1 with [Kc], [Ks].
1 fold, TW raises, 2 folds, MP2 calls, 3 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (8 SB) [3h], [4s], [8s] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, TW bets, MP2 raises, SB calls, BB folds, TW 3-bets, MP2 calls, SB calls.

Turn: (8.50 BB) [7d] (3 players)
SB checks, TW bets, MP2 calls, SB calls.

River: (11.50 BB) [Ts] (3 players)
SB checks, TW checks, MP2 checks.

Final Pot: 11.50 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 3s Js (flush, jack high).
TW has Kc Ks (one pair, kings).
MP2 has 9s 9c (one pair, nines).
Outcome: SB wins 11.50 BB.

HAND 3 : In which a savvy foe brings down the JJ with 56o, and our hero is unable to make the solid river laydown.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: TW is UTG+1 with [Jd], [Js].
1 fold, TW raises, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 4 folds, SB calls, BB 3-bets, TW calls, MP1 calls, SB calls.

Flop: (12 SB) [4h], [4c], [7d] (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets, TW raises, MP1 folds, SB calls, BB calls.

Turn: (9 BB) [Tc] (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, TW bets, SB calls, BB folds.

River: (11 BB) [3d] (2 players)
SB checks, TW bets, SB raises, TW calls.

Final Pot: 15 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 6d 5s (straight, seven high).
TW has Jd Js (two pair, jacks and fours).
Outcome: SB wins 15 BB.

There were a couple other little silly ones at the same table, but they were neither big pots nor really bad suckouts. Now for the GOOD stuff!

BEAUTIFUL YET SO UGLY HAND A : In which our devious shark makes a textbook 3-bet, a bold turn raise, and...well, you'll see.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: TW is Button with [6h], [5h].
4 folds, CO raises, TW 3-bets, 2 folds, CO calls.

Flop: (7.33 SB) [4s], [Jh], [Qc] (2 players)
CO checks, TW bets, CO calls.

Turn: (4.66 BB) [3s] (2 players)
CO bets, TW raises, CO calls.

River: (8.66 BB) [7d] (2 players)
CO checks, TW bets, CO calls.

Final Pot: 10.66 BB

Results in white below:
CO has Js Ac (one pair, jacks).
TW has 6h 5h (straight, seven high).
Outcome: TW wins 10.66 BB.

BEAUTIFUL YET SO UGLY HAND B : In which our noble crusader demonstrates the wisdom of playing the powerful J9o.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: TW is CO with [Jd], [9h].
UTG calls, 5 folds, TW calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: (4.33 SB) [8c], [As], [Th] (4 players)
BB bets, UTG folds, TW raises, Button calls, BB 3-bets, TW calls, Button calls.

Turn: (6.66 BB) [3c] (3 players)
BB bets, TW calls, Button raises, BB 3-bets, TW calls, Button caps, BB calls, TW calls.

River: (18.66 BB) [Qd] (3 players)
BB bets, TW raises, Button 3-bets, BB calls, TW caps, Button calls, BB calls.

Final Pot: 30.66 BB

Results in white below:
BB has 8s Tc (two pair, tens and eights).
TW has Jd 9h (straight, queen high).
Button has Ad Ac (three of a kind, aces).
Outcome: TW wins 30.66 BB.

Well, the good times continue to roll. I put in another 2 hour morning session, raking in another $240. And I gotta tell ya, it was one of the most mizorly sessions I've ever played. I went on some kinda ridiculous rush where I kept flopping and hitting draws, nonstop. It all started with a beautiful little 75s runner-runner masterpiece that piers had the priveledge of showing up just in time to watch. I'm not gonna post it because I don't want to ruin my image as a rock-solid ABC player, but let's just say it was nothing short of orgasmic.

I've been doing great as far as hours this week, up to about 30 already. I work sat and sunday, but I should still be able to squeeze in another 3 or 4 shifts and hopefully hit or surpass the ol' 40 hour mark! I'm not feeling the least bit sick of poker, either, because lately I've been viewing it more from the perspective of a competition or challenge (i.e. challenge against myself to play my absolute best) rather than just a grind or a job. Definitely very cool!

Well I should probably get off to sleep now, but the problem is some friends just popped in...I've been up for about 16 hours and I need to be up for a 3 o'clock shift tomorrow...but ya see if I stay up a few hours, I'll wind up waking up at like frickin midnight or so and be all set to go to sleep when it's time to start work...and...right, you see my problem. So I gotta either hit the sack NOW or stay up till like 8 or 10 tonight. Sigh, the life of a degenerate is filled with so many such dilemnas.

Forgive me for my misinformation. Christ, at this rate, Mecos may sue me for libeling you. Doesn't change anything else though. You're still a lucksack. [/list]
