So, long time no post.

To be honest, I am grabbing a quick hour session here and there when I can, mainly at work as still no internet at home due to other things needing to be done.

I have probably played 3 or 4 hours since my last post.

Just had an hour session now, and completely decimated one guy. I took three buy ins from him, just purely by hitting my cards and him being a donk.

I get AQo, 4 x the BB one caller. Flop a gutshot broadway draw, bet half the pot, the two PF callers come along. Nail the gutty, retard raises big, other calls for his stack, I push, retard calls and shows two pair, shortie shows lower straight. tyvm.

3 hands later, I get KK UTG, 3 x the BB, retard reraises, I reraise, he min raises, I call. Pot around $6, queen high. I open shove, deciding if he has aces, GG him. He calls, shows A5 with no draws, he gets no help. DONK.

Three hands later I complete with A6o, 3 handed.

Flop AAQ, two hearts, I lead, retard min raises, button folds, I reraise, he min raises, I shove, he calls and shows 63h. I boat up with another Queen on the turn and make quad aces on the river.

10 minutes later, I leave nearly 4 buy ins up.

Generally its been a decent run over the last week, still not running red or anything but I feel if I put in some more hours when I get broadband at home, I could easily sustain the 17ptBB's I'm running at currently.

BR: $277

PT stats: 25/12/3.5

So been a while since I updated this.

Been messing sround with some SNG's on Party recently, and not really getting anywhere. It's economical though, buy in for 3 bucks, win/finish 2nd in 5 10 man SNGs and you get a shot at step 6, where you can win from 2k for first down to 500 bucks for 5th.

If you finish 3-4 you get another shot at that level, 5-7 you drop down a level etc. They're a good, cheap way to play poker for fun, and despite some horrible beats at level 5 (see BB forum) I have quite enjoyed it.

Played a few MTT's on Pacific too, standard bust outs of them, all in PF w/ QQ, oppo shows AK, rivers a K yadda yadda..

So this evening I fired up 4 tables of 25NL 6 max on Pacific, and boy were the retards out in force. I made 4 buy ins, which has brought my roll back to $280 after donking it around in flipaments. I'm not rolled for $25NL but my roll isn't irreplaceable and I'm happy that I can beat this level very easily without going busto.

In all fairness, I should of been 6 buy ins up this evening but I had KK cracked by JJ, who flopped a set and rivered quads, nihan...and also cracked by the same lucksack who had A4 sooooooted. I flopped a set, he wouldn't let go of his obv NFD and I paid his river flush off even though I knew I was beat, I was well pot comminted by then and I was hoping he had AK, or KQ or some nonsense.

Have got broadband at home now, so am planning on getting some hours in before I go on holiday, which is the second week of August.

I may even try and get up to $500 and then cash out and buy some new clothes for the holiday and treat my g/f to some nice stuff, I'll see.

I'm actually looking at poker in a different light really, I think I'm quite happy to play for fun, if I make some money then wooot but am quite happy using it to pass the time. I used to have aspirations of doing this for a living but meh, it's just not likely.

Have got halfway through GodlikeRoy's journo, am quite sure everyone is reading it but if you're reading this and you haven't read his, I suggest you start. Quite amusing.

Current roll : $286

PT stats as always, a solid sLAG of 25/12/3

I've decided to try and update this journal regularly fwiw, maybe people will read it when I'm rich and famous, or dead, w/e.

I took a decision to change my game a bit yesterday, reading Roy's journo made me think that perhaps being a 6 table, 6 max nit with rakeback and bonuses could be better than being a 4 table, 6 max sLAG and having no bonus, no rake and paying Pacific's very high rake to boot.

So, along with the suggestions Northview made earlier in this journal, I'm gonna sign up for some rakeback sites, play the Crypto's and see if I can't build a steady roll that way. I used to be a complete nit, then I had to loosen up for 6 max, now I've gone the other way to having slightly looser than I'd like, PT stats.

I will do this when I get back from holiday, which is about mid August.

So to get into practice for this, I fired up 4 6 mx, $25NL tables on Pacific (can't have more than 4 another reason to leave Pacific) and just basically folded everything except PP's, big aces and big S/C's from LP. It started well, made a buy in and a half within an hour, or around $40, all was well. Went downstairs for a smoke, drink and stuff, came back, found 4 more juicy tables and then proceeded to be completely card dead for the next two hours. You know the thing, get KK and take the blinds, raise with total air in LP and everyone want's to fight you for the pot, sigh. This hand was the definate highlight of the session. I'm mfcjay, obv.

Wooooot

That hand felt good. :D

It was all downhill more or less from then.

My stats were very odd, 680 hands, for 18/8/5.5. Get that PF stat higher and I'm goot, some cards to raise with would be nice though.

So in the end I broke even. I fancied something a bit different so I fired up 3 PLO tables, my god the players here are bad. I'm nowhere near a good Omaha player but sheesh, people can't wait to get it in with hands like KK27 etc. So, made about $40 dollars with a flopped straight and flopped flush, which was nice.

Me and my girlfriend and her daughter are going on holiday soon, we're gonna book somewhere last minute, 'cos we can get a very good deal on all inclusive 5 star stuff if we book late, gangsta ain't I?

Probably somewhere in Greece, I like Greece. So will have a nice break from work, life and poker, and come back ready to go bonus whoring and rakeback chasing!

So despite the title of this journal, I succumbed to the 25k gteed on Pacific last night. I folded for about 2 hours, with a splattering of well timed raises to try and stay ahead of the blinds.

Blinds were 200/400, my stack was just over 4k so my M is pretty low but I'm still in a reasonable position, about 200 from 400 left in the chip count. UTG min raises, nothing new there. UTG+1 cold calls, this guy is a bit of a fish and has got very lucky. I have [Tc] [9c] on the button, perfect time for a squeeze me thinks, the two in the pot have mid stacks and won't want to call.

Or so I thought.

I push, blinds fold, UTG folds, UTG+1 thinks and thinks and calls, shows me A9o. Massive. So my contrived and clever pre flop thinking was wasted as the retard shows a hand that doesn't beat anything I'm repping. Meh, so I was dominated and got no help at all.

I've only got a few more days of work left then I'm off for two weeks, yay! Still haven't booked the holiday as we're gonna leave it untill the last minute to get a good deal, although it's hard finding something suitable thus far. Will keep looking.

Poker is silly.

It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.

Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
