So I didn't think it could get any worse than last night. Just goes to show what I know, doesn't it?

I forgot to mention last night that someone flopped quads on me. I raised AK from the BTN, BB calls, flop of 3A3r and we get it all in. He's a 22/18 type so I can't see him having a 3. A3 maybe? Probably not. Nope, he has 33.

So tonight, I started my games very very laggy for me, I fancied a change and it was fun, I was taking pots down and setting up a great image as a lagtard. Then I start getting some hands.

1) I raise AK OTB and the flop comes A22. I'd been 3 betting this particular villian a fair bit, with sc's and stuff. He almost certainly thinks I'm full of it. I bet, he shoves. He runs at like, 27/16 or something. Ok, if you have aces here, good for you. I call, nope..he has pocket 2's. Great.

2) I 3 bet a newish guy to the table after he raised a bunch of limpers, he folded. I had AQ, he runs at 15/15 over 50 odd hands. Next hand I get AA. He raises to $4 UTG, I 3 bet to $12, he calls. Flop is 8K8, I bet, he calls. Good I think, he has AK/KQ here, stacko time. Turn bricks. I shove. He calls and shows 88.

SOMEONE FLOPS QUADS ON ME FOR THE THIRD TIME IN TWO DAYS.

WTF!

I get JJ in the BB, folded to the small blind who makes it $3.50. We have history, I 3 bet him a bit earlier, he shoved I folded. Anyway, I make it $12, he calls. I pretty sure I've got him on tilt a bit. Flop is 543r. I check, he donks, I CRAI, and say to my flatmate "if he's got Aces, Kings or Queens I'm gonna throw something" he turbo calls and shows me AA. I don't suck out, obv.

I've dropped a staggering $1299 in 2 sessions, on coolers and downright ridiculous luck.

That's a really tough run. Don't know what else to say, but those quads hands will even out in the long run because you played them fine. Only problem is, how long IS the long run, ie how many hands do you expect to have to play before you flop quads 3 times on flops that hit your opponents hard too?

Bad luck JJ, that downswing really got to you I guess. You're wise to concentrate on your studies, because online poker's not going to change much in character for the foreseeable future so you can always return to it any time you want.
