I had a real icky session last night. It started by me busting on the 5th or so hand of the satellite tourny I spoke of two or three posts ago, FD+overs missing vs TPTK. No rebuy thank you Mr Betfred, if I can't make that flip I won't make anymore.
I fired up 6 tables of $50NL and was swonging like I have done since the start of the year, when I went on a nice upswong and sat at around 10 ptbb's for the sesh, after around 800 hands. Went card dead for a bit and then made two uber donk plays and got stacked twice.
I get JJ OTB, 3 bet MP, folded back to him he calls. Flop all low rags and he check calls three streets with me shoving the river on a very ragged low board. He shows me QQ. Yuck, I really should of checked behind on the river and saved me half a stack, the guy was like, 16/8 or something. GG me.
Second one was worse, and actually makes me feel sick to think about it. It's a combination of utter retarded play and crap luck. There's a 21/18 guy two seats to my right who has just 4 bet my last three preflop 3 bets. For some reason, I decide that 3-betting him with KJo is a good idea. He pretty quickly 4 bets me, real small. What's that you hear? Alarm bells? Yes, I hear them now. It's a shame I didn't hear them at the time, as I mashed the all in button in my heroic "I'm gonna make a stand against this shit, who the fuck does he think he is" and he shows me KK, whoops. I don't suck out and decide I better quit before I monkey tilt off another 498562 buy ins.
I'm annoyed even now as I post this. KJo is possibly THE worst hand I could choose to make a superhero stand with. Sure I was unlucky that on his fourth 4 bet he had the 2nd best preflop hand in hold 'em but I really gotta stop making these mistakes.
If I ironed out these awful mistakes I think I could crush this level for 10-12 ptbb's. As it stands, retarded mistakes like this are costing me a buy in a session.
I am happy with my general play, it's just these stupid mistakes in isolation that are costing me.
Another thing, I'm pretty sure I'm running drastically short on flopped sets. It seems I have hit 35 in around 5k hands this month. How often should you flop a set?
I have some weird ass stats right now, in 5k hands I have hit 17 straights, 18 flushes and 14 boats.
I have hit 35 sets and 4 quads. All very odd.
How does this graph look to you? Standard variance or unusual swongs?
