What does the SD figure tell you?

Mine is (it should be for this month I guess) :
SD/Hour $95.7309 --- 43.5316 Big Bets
SD/100 $95.2411 --- 43.9262 Big Bets

I have no idea what that tells me..

Me either Red but NV obv has a point and is gonna educate us.

SD for last session;

SD - Hour = $52 - 52 BB's.
SD - 100 hands $61 - $61 BB's

SD for the month;

SD - Hour = $40 - 44 BB's.
SD - 100 hands $47 - 50 BB's

Explain what this means to us noobs, please mate? Does it mean we are swinging $47 every 100 hands, in my case?

It's an indication of how swingy your sessions are, but then again as a session is an artifical concept (a session being nothing more significant than a batch of consecutive hands from your whole poker career) I guess it should be fairly meaningless.

Except that when you look at people's actual SD's they do often correlate to playing styles eg I remember when Xaston posted his a while ago it was > 60ptbb/100

yeh the problem with the set-ometer graphs is that running badly is red (hot) and running good is blue (cool) - we should lobby for it to be the other way around surely!
