It appears I lost a day in there somewhere - on Dec. 8th... my schedual got a little crazy and days ran into each other. Sure didn't feel like a day off. Anyway, started getting tired so I left after 4 hours today, unfortunate cause the game was great.

I tried to clean this up a bit. Apparently the text program that this site uses doesn't understand spaces so I put in dots to seperate the various entries. I also added an "hours to date" and an "hourly to date" entry.

Again a note on the shortness of the day yesterday (12-11) I brought my friend down to help him get an audition for a dealing job yesterday (once he got the audition he wouldn't need any help at all - he's a great dealer but only three weeks experience). There was alot of sitting around waiting for both him to get auditioned and fill out paperwork as well as waiting for a game to start that I wanted to play in. I had killed 5 hours by the time the game started so I was only good for about another three hours before I needed some sleep.

Hitting and running is about the silliest thing for a winning player to do - comes just after playing when you're too tired to make correct decisions so I quit the game for the latter reason rather than the former.

Mad Genius,

I usually will cover the table in most NL or PL games. In the last two plays I bought in for $500 and $6000 respectively. The second day there was a guy who had about $5K on the table - unfortunately, he left soon thereafter followed by the next biggest stack so it became useless to have that much on the table but once it's there you can't take it off of course.

As for your second question - I'm not someone you're likely to know - a bonafide nobody. Seriously. I don't know who the "Mad Genius" is either ;) We both just operate under a handle but tell you what... you ever come to Vegas, I'll be glad to meet up with you and I'll buy lunch.

Meeting w/U

Postby GeoC » Mon Dec 13, 2004 10:02 am

UP:

It would be great to have lunch with you sometime with a couple of my friends. I and my two friends used to play very high stakes BJ and have turned to poker. We all live in Vegas so It woulnd't be much a a stretch to meet. Just a matter of scheduling.

GeoC,

I'd be happy to. I'm going to have to re-think this whole 'I'll buy lunch' thing though or this could get expensive... ;) j/k

Anywho, - I'm out of town for a few days as of tomorrow but I'll bet we can work something out when I get back. PM me toward the end of the week if you remember and/or I'll PM you.

Well, I've come down with strep throat which has knocked me out of commission for the last few days so I suppose this thread has ended seeing as I won't get in a session today. Final results for the month (re: 30 day period):

100hrs-$10,225-$102.25/hr

Hope the thread was of interest.

Wow. On behalf of all BTPers I thank you enormously for this amazing effort in terms of results keeping.

Please do it again! :D

Strep throat is terrible, and what a time to get it. Please get well soon!

TUP said...."I've been running horrendously. The only thing I've caught at the tables in the last 2 weeks has been strep throat which I'm recovering from nicely thank you very much".

You said you were running bad, but I dont see even one losing day in there..What gives? Maybe your defintition of running bad is that you only won $50/hr?

At the risk of sounding like I'm whining ...

My last session is typical. I played against two people who couldn't spell poker. We played down to 3 players but at 4 players both of these players remained. Despite having a $300 maximum buy-in, both these players had about $1500 in front of them. I had over $1000. The last hand for one of them occured when they were playing heads up and the board came, Ah7h9h. One bet $100 into a $10 pot and the other called. The turn was an 8h and one bet $200 and the other raised to $400 which was called. The river brought a Tc which elicited a $400 bet and call. So the board looks like so: [Ah] [7h] [9h] [8h] [Tc] - four to a flush and four to a straight. The hands? [9d] [9c] and [As] [8d] . How did I play for 8 hours with these two and not have all their chips? Running bad.

Well, despite having completed the 30 days of online recordkeeping which I was aiming for, I've decided to continue this thread for a while longer.

You'll note that my limits dropped as well as logging a short session on 12-24. My good friend was offered a job by this card room and as sort of a thank you to them I'm devoting myself to giving them some business despite them not really having a game the size of which I am looking for. I left after three hours for two reasons. One, I am just getting over strep throat and my strength is not yet up to speed. Secondly however - and I would have left at this point even if I was up to speed - I bought in for $100, though most of the table was in for $40. After three hours I had $520 in front of me which was more than the rest of the table combined. It's unlikely that one can win every chip on the table and despite having an edge - they are risking $40 to win $520...certainly not in one shot - but nevertheless - there wasn't enough on the table left to win.
