August 31st 10:30PM
mood: contemplative
I'm not really sure what to say. The month of August has been spectacular for my poker game. I hit the milestone of $100k for the year and I just finished the month off with a small winning streak.
It's been such a rollercoaster ride the last few months; but right now I'm playing well and the cards are HOT. It feels too easy. Poker is such a deceptive game. I will never forget that losing streak. I realize now it can come back at any moment. Variance amazes me every session.
A hand here, a hand there... all of a sudden your winning month turns into a losing one. Most players can't grasp that. In fact, I couldn't until a few months ago. Experience baby!
I'm excited what poker has in store for me. I wish I could move up faster but taxes are annihilating my bankroll. I already know I can beat 10/20 so it's frustrating. I'm not sure when I will move up.... but it will be sooner or later.

A fun hand:
Opponent is tilting. He's also very aggressive.
Dealt
[Kd]. Tilter limps UTG. Another loose preflop guy calls.. i make it $50 from the button. Both limpers call.
FLOP$160
[Qd][Qs]
They check to me and I check.
TURN$160
[Qd][Qs]
Tilter bets $130. Limper folds and I call.
RIVER $420
[Qd][Qs]
He basically pots at $410 w/ $400 left. Knowing the players on prima in general.. I doubt he pots the turn w/ a queen. If he doesn't have a Queen he might have Jack. But he shouldn't pot the river w/ a jack either. Maybe a smaller blocking bet... but a full pot bet? He should be scared i'm slowplaying AQ. All underpairs are counterfieted now and that's what I think he has. I call with my ace high.
He shows
[4c] and I take it down. ROFLCOPTER. I was wrong about that pair.
