finally a relatively good day. only lost one big pot when i reraise pretty big after a min raise and about 68 callers. get call by 55 and 77. flop 622 and i put them both all in, turn of course 5. won about 3.5 stacks in 400 hands or so.

how good do i run? oop with 99 call a raise after 387 people call raise on one table, flop 932r and CR raiser and get called, another table river the nut straight against two folks in a pretty big pot AND right before i am able to stack the fools the internet connection goes down and i am pissed. turns out not a blimp in the connection but my wife for god knows what reason has cut through the goddamn cable wire outside while apparently attempting to cut through some roots with a shovel. what fucking timing she has.

played about 300 hands of limit holdem today and managed to win which i suppose is somewhat of a miracle for me. reloaded for the stars bonus and will probably try to knock that out playing limit so i can get back to cake nl and rakeback pretty fast.

research going pretty good. will probably start writing up a treatment for the western hemisphere species (8 species recognized from what had been 20). doing this revision has been very enlightening for me in regard to the tremendous variation that a particular plant species can exhibit. if one were to look at the opposite extremes of the morphology of several "species" it would clearly appear to be two separate entities. pretty exciting stuff for a plant taxonomist to be able to piece the puzzle together in a big revision in what has been a historically misunderstood genus.

Well spent the early part of October in NYC visiting my children and getting some literature from the NYBG library for my research. It was a very nice time for the most part. Only put in a few hours of poker the remaining part of the month as I have been working hard on my project and really just too damn tired to play much when I get home and honestly I would rather just spend what time I do have before hitting the sack playing with my little girl or working around the house. Since I am not playing much poker now a days I am going to start writing again in my online journal instead of here.
