I really havent been running well lately. I havent lost money, but over the last 2 weeks I am pretty much break even. Online I have been running into this annoying pattern where I win at the begginning of my session and then getting bad beat at the end and coming up pretty much even.

So last night I played my usual home game. This game was juicy as every. By the end of the night there was $1500 in the game. Again as in my online sessions I was up big early. Then boom, this time I cant blame bad beats. One completely moronic play by be me. First off, I played well at the begginning. I got KK and raised and got all in vs AQ, and won a big pot. I made a nice fold with QQ. On a board of AJ10, after $50 got in preflop. I folded for another $25 with that board. My opponant turned a set.

Then one hand I really dont like my play. I get AJ on the button I limp, the flop is AAJ. It checks to me, I check. Turn is a Q, Co bets out $2.50. I call hoping to pick up a couple more callers. One players calls. River is a blank. Co bets $4. I raise to $20 and both fold. I played this way to passively and it cost me. I should have either bet the flop or raised the turn.

Then comes total and complete bone head. I am the Button with Briacheks hand J9. I limp flop is 865. It checks around. Turn is the 7 completing my str8. Mp bets $3. I call, so does one of other player, BB raises to $40. At this point there is $12 in the pot. He is a decent but very agressive player. I call Turn is a brick. He checks and instead of checking behind, I decide that he must also have a 9 but with a missed flush draw too. So I bet trying to rep 910. He raises all in for $50 more, now I have to call hoping we chop, instead he has 910 and I piss away $150 out of stupidity. I was not happy, as much as I hate losing to bad beats at least if i get my money in with the best hand I feel like I am playing well. This time I just feel like a moron. There is no reason to call the turn check-raise. I am hoping to chop, and that would mean $6, instead I call $40. Then I get greedy on the river and try to steal the whole pot, when really my best chance was to chop. Stupid Stupid Stupid. Did I mention stupid.

Golden 1, yeah I am from the Bay Area, Danville Ca, not sure if you know where that is. I am really glad that hockey is back and I think that a lot of the changes they made are really good for the game, without completely changing the way the game is played. I take it from your sports team of choice you are from the bay too, what part???

The bad beats are part of poker and I have grown to accept them, what piss's me off is when I make a stupid play that I know is stupid and it costs me a bunch of money. In the last hand I went against my insticts, everything in my brain was screaming FOLD, and I still called and it cost me a big chunk of money. I dont make these moronic mistakes that often and when I do they bother me a lot more than the bad beats.

Yeah, I've played soccer tournaments in Danville a bunch (you guys got some real nice fields, rich boys ). I'm from the small town of Hercules, Its on I-80 between Vallejo and Berkeley, those are the usual reference point I give people.

Yeah there are some seriously rich people in Danville wish I was one of them . I do know Hercules, I had a friend from DVC that lived there and I drove through there quite often on my way to San Pablo when they were the only casino that had NL in nor cal.

I knew I should have taken my own advice and not played fo a while. The only good news is I played well. Really bad suckout session today. 4 killer hands

Hand 1: Call a raise preflop with 44, flop is 642 rainbow. The BB who raised preflop, bets out $30. I smooth call. Button moves in for $120, BB calls. I reraise all in. BB calls. BB has AK, LOL. Button has 86s, turn is a 7 river is a 5. Button makes a str8, I win a $220 side pot, so I pretty much break even. Lose a $360 main pot.

Hand 2: I get AA in the BB, Mp raises to $15. I raise to $75. Mp calls. BB starts the hand with $140 in chips. Flop is A37 rainbow. I check he checks behind. Turn is a 4, I put him in he insta calls with 25. No river for me, I double him up. He only had $65 left so he probably calls a flop bet either way.

Hand 3: I get moved to the main table. I get QQ. Raise to $23 get called in two spots. Flop is 982 with 2 spades. I bet $40 and get 2 callers. Turn is the 2c. I bet $100, first caller pushs all in for $150. 2nd player folds. River is a 10, He flips over QJs for the str8. I grumble under my breath and he says "I'm probably ahead on the flop." Yean but all the money didnt go in on the flop.

Hand 4: I am the button with A8 clubs. This is about 10 min after hand 3: I limp, flop is A84, checks to me I bet $50 trying to make it look like I'm tilting. I get one caller. Turn is a 6. He checks I bet $80. He calls. River is a 7. He checks, I push in my last $80. He calls way to fast and turns over 85 for the backdoor str8. I fire my hand into the much and he says "I knew you were tilting." I wanted to knock him out, This was a really good table but I was to frusterated to keep playing. I would have pissed more money away/

Totals for the session: 4.5 hrs, -$576

Thanks Kenny. It really has been a terrible run. I feel like adopting you signature. Getting up after that was a victory, most players would have been so tilted they would have pissed off more money. I really wish I had had the mental stegnth to get over it and not tilt. I know I dont but that table was so good, with a couple of hands holding up for me I could have been back up in no time.

Its almost ironic. I started dating a new girl that I met through a friend of mine. I told her about poker and it didnt seem to bother her. She was surprised by the amount of money that you can win playing poker. She actaully seemed interested when I explained how it works being a semi-pro. I she keeps asking me how I did today, she must be scratching her head, I tell her that I am a strong winning player and everytime she asks me how I did the last week, I keep telling her I had a bad session and lost. LOL Maybe I used up all my good luck meeting here LOL.

Hmmm not really the way I want to start a new relationship. She is a pretty chill girl, I dont think it bothers here, its just a little ironic.
