Hey piers--check out this O8B hand from earlier--you'll crack yourself up at it...

It's just a shame.

Nothing like some good rum, some good weed and a little P-Funk to get your body and mind right to thrash some fools. Rectified this mornings sessions.

Pretty uneventful morning session. Foolishly chased one flush draw but other than that played solid just wan't picking up many hands that devasted anyone. Did manage to knock out another 100.00 bonus in the process. Time to make a little cornbread and take a little cerveza break.

What exactly is "various"? Bonuses and rakeback?

Also, if you have rakeback for Party and/or Multi, could you give me a reference?

Well the afternoon session pretty much sucked. Managed to drop about 60 or so playing 2 hours of 12 limit at WH to clear the last part of the bonus. I won 2 hands the whole time. First major pot it gets folded around to me in SB with KK and I raise and BB calls. Flop J10x and I bet he raises I reraise he makes it 4 bets and I make it 5 and he calls. Turn is a damn 9 giving him two pair with 10 9. What a crock of shit. Put a beating on the PLO8 fools though to balance it out somewhat.

Piers,

I am just fascinated with your account of making a living at online play from Venezuela. I never would have believed it possible. I am a relative newcomer to poker. I've had mixed results on line but I have not even begun to play at the rate you do. Currently my preference is B&M lo limit no limit, and from the vantage point of living in Las Vegas, there seem to be plenty of fish to fry. But one must be very careful to pick one's spots. My biggest problem is dealing with the emotional ups and downs connected with losing. Keeping a journal on line is a great way to vent, and in the short time I have been posting I have found the encouragement from others and reading of their ups and downs to be very beneficial. It is nice to know one is not the Lone Ranger! :)

Congratulations and keep doing what you are doing. I will continue to track your journal as you are something of an inspiration.

Thanks,
Poquette

I was misinformed. There is, after all, crying in poker.

I am certainly good company at BTP because there are quite a few folks here that are making a decent amount from on-line play. If anything it is probably much easier for me because the cost of living is so much cheaper here than in many places. I also very much enjoy playing live but that is limited here. I lived in Vegas in the late 90's for a while and really enjoyed the games there but I can only imagine what madness must be present now at the tables.

I hate losing as well that's why I try not to do much of it  Thanks very much for your comments. I guess the best advice I can give to you as a relatively new player is a couple of things that Mike Caro said that roughly goes like this, players generally take turns going on tilt and the person that goes on tilt the least will probably fare the best. Just pass your turn at tilt. The other is that you are always even. The money that you have won or lost is in the past so don't let it affect your play in the present. Take care and I hope your poker journey is an enjoyable one.

Spent the early morning having the car fixed as a break line was busted. I don't get real irritated at alot of things but one thing that pisses me off is back seat drivers or someone that has very little knowledge of an area that I know quite a deal about telling me how something should be done. I use to drive semi's cross country for a living for a little over a year in the early 90's and have probably driven over 1 million miles in my lifetime with zero accidents, and living in NYC for 6 years that is quite an accomplishment. But all that does not seem to matter when my wife and her sister are in the car with me as they seem to know it all and apparently don't think I can see the speed bumps coming up or the pot hole in the road. For christ sake just shut the phuck up and enjoy the ride. Neither one of them can drive a lick. My sister in law has never driven and my wife has driven very little. Her last time was after I left the airport to the US in June and she wrecked the car twice coming back from the airport but still wants to tell me how to drive. The other thing that irrritates the hell out of me is her apparent god like knowledge of car maintenance. I have fixed pretty much everything possible that can be broke in a vehicle in my lifetime but she thinks I have no idea about car problems. Everytime we get in the car she wants to add water to the overflow tank of the radiator and everytime I tell her that it is fine and that is for when the water gets hot and overflows into the container but no that motherphucker has to be topped off when ice cold. I just quit trying to explain to her and fill the damn thing up.

Well on to poker. Today has been relatively shitty. I played poorly on a couple of hands in PLO8 but still showed a small profit and I played excellently at holdem and got crushed. No need for the bad beat details just suffice it to say they were numerous. I am within two hours of clearing one 100 bonus and probably three hours from another. Today is the last day of the multipoker bonus sign up but I still haven't decided if I want to go that route. I may just return to my 5-10 games and give'm hell there.

My wife was the one that told me about it so I am not exactly sure of all the in and outs but apparently there is a card that they install inside your computer that allows you to pick up the signal. I hope like hell it works and I do think it will as there are now computer broadcast of the President here when he travels around to some pretty remote areas to give talks. I'll let you know more when I get set up.

Well a pretty blah late session as I was getting crushed again at the Crypto tables right out of gate when I three bet 1010 preflop and get called in two places and flop a set. Guy hangs around with AJ and gutters a damn straight on me. Was going to shut it down for the night and on the last round picked up some good hands and even got to crack AA off for a nice pot.

I have decided to abandon the bonus chasing for a while in liue of playing the 5-10 tables again. I still have a few more bonuses to finish off on the Cryptos but I should be able to knock them out tomorrow and get on with the new approach. Got the BR pretty flush again so things hopefully will continue to roll along in the positive direction.

Not exactly lighting the games on fire today.
