Speaking of the dentist here are some hands were I think I made maximum extractions today. I think they are good examples to study in the least on how to handle certain situations like having the nuts and getting bet and raised into and how to handle an overaggressive player on a small blind defense, etc.

This guy has a flop and turn aggression factor of 4.0. If he had a real powerhouse here he would most likely wait to raise me on the turn. He also can't discount that I have some of this flop since I only limped in from the small blind and led out. I think he is trying to make a play on me here with his raise.
TURN [board cards 9S,7H,3C,10C ] Well I now have a gut shot and two overcards and I don't think Elvis has much of anything but he will follow his flop bet up here without a doubt so I let him bet it again and then raise him with my Ace/Jack high knowing that without a pretty serious hand, which given his flop raise I don't believe he has he will probably lay his bluff attempt down or even a small pair.
DagnyTag checks, Elvis lives bets $10, DagnyTag bets $20, Elvis lives folds.

This was a real gem of a steal after the villain checks the flop and then bets at it when a 3 hits the turn. When you are heads up and it gets checked to you bet the flop and try to take it down there as most of time your opponent doesn't have anything and will be hard pressed to call you with a small pot most of the time. When she checks the flop she has just given me the license to steal from her with a crafty CR turn on a nothing turn card which happened to give me a double gut shot if I did happen to get called which wasn't likely.

Another hand that given the betters action he probably doesn't have shit. If he had an Ace he would have likely raised me up preflop and if he had a 10 I don't think he would have led into me on the flop but would have tried to sucker me in for some extra bets on the turn and river. I called the flop figuring my K high was likely good and would evaluate how to proceed on the turn depending on what hit.

Ok I hit my pair which given his preflop and flop action I am almost 100% sure I am ahead here but I don't want to raise him as he will very likely fold with this board and my read on him having none of it. I want him to have an opportunity to fire again on the river and then raise him which he might even pay off out of curiosity with a small pair or even a high card.

I could probably get locked up for entrapment here. I check my A shitty kicker on the flop intending on going for a check raise because this particular player would in all likelihood raised it up from the CO with an ace holding but instead had limped in.

Hero checks, CO checks.
Turn: (1.20 BB)
(2 players) I figured I would check a second time as it would just be too tempting to not bet here after I checked because I certainly would not check an A twice in a row here
Hero checks,
CO bets,
Hero raises, CO calls.
The old turn CR worked like a charm. The fact that I got called gave me a very good indication that the J had hit them or perhaps they had picked up a spade draw.
River: (5.20 BB)
(2 players) Not the best card in the deck for me but I lead out again as I think the J holding is much more likely here than the spades.
Hero bets,
CO raises, Hero calls.
Damn got raised which I wasn't expecting to happen but I called her down and got to see what I thought would be her holding. She still figured that I couldn't have that ace I guess and since the board paired it gave her an Ace kicker with her Jack in the case I had a KJ so she felt confident in at least a split.
Again by analyzing what my opponent could not or very likely did not hold I was able to play the hand in a way to maximize my earnings the majority of the time, the fact that she hit her pair may have made leading out on the turn the best play here but if she held nothing she would not call which would be most of the time so in the long run the CR I believe is the best play here.
Final Pot: 9.20 BB
