Rake return: 14.36
Total: 50.11
Time: 1h45m

Well I am feeling alot better now but from where I was at that doesn't mean alot. Still feeling pretty weak. I attempted to put in another session this evening but after 30 minutes or so of playing just didn't have the energy to do anymore. Feel fortunate to get any hands in at all today and make a small profit. Hopefully I will be fully recovered tomorrow as I have alot of work to do to clear these party bonuses.

Party 12 limit, 523 hands, 26.25, 2h10m
Party 25 PL, 36 hands, 13.47, 25m
Party 25 NL, 42 hands, 2.00, 25m
Pokerstars 0.02-0.04 limit, 145 hands, -1.86, 2h15m
Bonus: 200
Rake return: 9.41
Total: 249.27
Time: 5h10m

A pretty tough day overall at the 12 tables although I did manage a small profit and a thrashing at the 0.02-0.04 BTP game. But all in all an ok day as I cleared the first of 3 Party bonuses and I am fully recovered from whatever god awful shit I had yesterday. Overall February was a pretty good month with another 4K+ profit so 2005 is starting off on a good note.

March 1, 2005: Time to tackle NL

Postby piersmajestyk » Tue Mar 01, 2005 7:28 pm

With the change in the blind structure at Party in the NL games I have decided to head over to the dark side and try to develop some passing skills at the game. I hope that this "limit" journal has helped in some way to improve some of your games or just given you the knowledge that it can be done even at the very low limits if you play well and take advantage of the readibly available bonuses. Also if you are not currently getting some of your rake back then you should talk to Ice about that because it does make a big difference if you are playing much at all.

Winning at low limit holdem is not rocket science. By just playing good cards, taking position into account and never going on tilt you should be able to show a good profit. From there just keep working on maximizing your edges as your game moves along. With experience these things will start to click for you very rapidly and when that starts to happen you should be on your way to making a pretty decent profit at your limit game. Continued good luck to all of you.

Party 25 NL, 1284 hands, 53.28, 6h40m
Party 100 NL, 104 hands, 98.90, 35m
Rake return: 7.87
Total: 160.05
Time: 7h15m

Welcome to the Mouse Breakers

Postby piersmajestyk » Fri Mar 04, 2005 6:44 pm

A nice one hour 220 hand session where I drop 32 Big Bets while clearing a Crypto Bonus. A series of second best hands, counterfeits and outrageous drawouts for your viewing displeasure. When shit happens to me it usually happens in a big way, just glad it was at 12 limit this time. One or a couple of these is pretty easy to shake off but when they come in a flurry you're in mouse breaking hell.

Those are some pretty horrible hands. That last one is completely ridiculous.

I think you could have gotten away from this one:

Yep cost myself an extra 4.00 on that one but I was not going to lay it down as I still had a K high flush draw as well as 2 kings. I was thinking more along the lines that he had AQ as well after he had called my preflop raise but to no avail it was the trusty 97o

Yep old Osgood had a VIP of 90% and after the hand said, "sorry about that, that's just the way I play"

Bonus: 254.38
Rake return: 8.94
Total: 195.3

Well I set my goal today to clear all the Crypto bonuses except PokerPlex that I had taken care of yesterday. After nearly 7 grueling hours at 12 limit they are all done. The fish just had their way with me today

Winning streak snapped

Postby piersmajestyk » Mon Mar 07, 2005 12:19 am

Well I guess I was due for a los after a +40 day winning streak and what a loss it was.

NL 1000, 115 hands, -1506.50, 1h50m
PL 400, 134 hands, -429.50, 2h20m
NL 400, 2306 hands, 418.95, 13h
Rake return: 11.74
Total: -1505.31
Time: 14h50m

Well I can honestly say that I don't feel to bad about this loss because the vast majority of it came early on when I had my money in with the best of it and just couldn't dodge the 2-5 outers. The opening session at 510: two hands that set the tone for the morning. Same guy both hands. Here is 4200.00 worth of beats with really only one that I can get away from easily and probably save 300.00. So being down 1500 is not too bad considering. And I forgot I lost another 1000.00 when I flopped a set versus a straight and didn't fill up but that wasn't a terrible beat just unfortunate outcome.

Wow, damn! Why are you playing such high limits? You know I was only joking when I went to the 1000 NL tables right? Stop trying out do me, you might go broke.

Those are just some tough beats though. I think you may be trying to rush things, but I hope you can absorb these losses and move on.
