Once again this week I didn't play any poker today. Instead I bought yet another motorcycle!!!!! And this one is definitely a keeper!!!! Anybody interested in buying a nice Yamaha V-Star 1100?
Details first, pics to follow. This bike is in absolutely PRISTINE condish!

2002 BMW K1200LT Custom

14.7k miles which makes this bike still practically brand new as BMW's go forever.

Individually heated seats

Heated grips

Heated mirrors

Electrically adjustable winshield so you can set it at whatever height suits you.

CB radio

Intercom system

Anti-theft alarm system. DAMN this thing is loud too!!

Travel computer for all the info I would ever need, like MPG, Range, Air temp, that kind of stuff. Not to mention idiot lights out the wazoo.

Antilock brakes

REVERSE GEAR!!!!! Never had this on a bike before but I tell you what, it sure makes it easier for me to back this thing up my driveway into the garage with my short ass legs.

TWO cd players! A single disc player up front and a 6 disc changer in the right travel case.

Stereo with AM/FM radio to go with the cd players. Separate volume controls for the driver and passenger! AND GET THIS, the motorcycle automatically adjusts the volume up and down depending on your speed and/or RPM so that the sound level stays the same as you set it to begin with! And with as quiet as this bike is, along with the nice windshield, the stereo is TOTALLY useable! I had never before thought having a stereo on a motorcycle made much sense. I am now a total convert.

A transferrable (for $25) bumper to bumper warranty that is good through October 2007. Why would they call it bumper to bumper on a vehicle with no bumpers?

Driving lights on the front forks. And these little babies really light up the road too! I already went out at night to try it out.

Tank bag, and bags that go into the travel cases so you can take your shit into your hotel with you like having a suitcase.

Here are some pics but they really just barely do the bike justice: The green gunk next to the keyhole on the handlebars is bug guts that somehow found their way there on the ride home from buying the bike.

To top it all off the guy also gave me a VERY nice Joe Rocket mesh (for warm weather) riding jacket with body armour. 4 helmets with different colored interchangeable face shields. A cold weather riding jacket and pants. And 4 pairs of riding gloves.

The credit union that financed this for me said the bike alone books out at 11K low (trade-in value) and 13k+ high (retail value) not including the warranty. Considering I got the ENTIRE package (bike, clothes, helmets, warranty) for $10.3k, I figure I got a decent deal overall. And it has 10k more miles to go before it needs another servicing!!!

Youngest daughter is home sick today so I'm home with her. Hopefully I can make back some of that stack and a quarter I lost last night.

I'm probably going to go play live casino poker tonight. Hope I don't F__K it up and blow my BR. Hopefully, this will give me confidence enough to play some cash games down in Vegas when I go to sweat Allstar at the WSOP. Either way at least I get to make a nice little trip out of it this weekend with the new bike.

My trip to Cactus Petes Casino/Hotel went fairly well. It was my first trip on the BMW. Much more comfortable to ride on for 3 hours than the V-Star although the V-Star is more fun to ride around town. (loud pipes, very cool) The BMW did get 52 MPG for the trip though and the V-Star can't touch that number!
Anyway, I ended up playing NL for about 2-3 hours. The games structure wasn't all that great. 100 - 300 buyin with 2/5 blinds. The damned rake was so high that as long as the hand went beyond the flop or if it was raised PF then the rake was $4 + $1 for the bad beat fund. I don't feel like $5 per hand is a good deal for anyone but the casino. Especially when you still have to tip the dealer beyond what you already paid the casino. Irreguardless of that, the table I was at played SH most of the time so the blinds came around awfully damned quick anyway. If the players didn't suck so bad I probably would have left. But after seeing folks call raises PF with crap like 63o and 72o, I figured I'd stay for awhile and see if I couldn't hit a hand or two. Well, as a matter of fact I did hit a few hands against these bozos and ended up making $143 for my trouble. If I would have walked away earlier, I could have cleared over $200 but I got greedy and stuck around too long without catching any more hands and those $7 blinds per orbit quickly ground my profits down. Oh well, live and learn. I think I'd like to play more casino poker, but from now on I'm going to look elsewhere for the games mostly. I'll try Wild horse casino in Pendleton, OR and Reno, NV in the future although Reno is MUCH further than either Jackpt or Pendleton and I would prefer not to have to go that route.
My biggest win of the night turned out to be a suckout on my part. I'm not used to being on the receiving end of these so it was a very nice change. Especially considering the size of the pot!
This is from memory so I hope I remember it correctly. But here goes,

I get dealt [As] [Kc] UTG and I decide to limp it, there are about 3 or 4 other limpers and the flop comes down
[3s] [Ks] [3c]
I bet $25 and it folds around to the button who just calls and the blinds fold. I figure the guy for an A or K of some sort. Possibly a PP.
Turn comes [7s]
I bet $50, and button goes allin for his last $110, raising me $60.
I didn't think he had a 3 so I called figuring that if he had a Kx or an A7 I had him beat easily and if he did have a 3 I still had plenty of outs with my nut flush draw and the other 2 Kings still being out there if he does have a 3.
Since he didn't have anymore money to raise me again, I called and he flips over 63o!!! AYE CARUMBA!!!! I dropped a load in my drawers.
But tonight lady luck shines on me and the river is the [Kh] giving me the boat and him his walking papers!!! Funny thing is that everyone (dealer included) at the table thought that HE had won the pot until I pointed out that I had hit the boat! Good thing I KNEW what I had!!!!

MVP tells me that the folks I was playing with are about 10 times BETTER than the ones in Vegas. So I am VERY much looking forward to playing a bit in Vegas when I go down to sweat Allstar in the WSOP. Hopefully, I can find a game or two with a better structure and even worse players. Should be a nice trip indeed.

It doesn't matter if he has it or not at that point... You can't fold that pot for $60 holding the [As] ...

BTW... Asian dood + poker table = MANIAC...!!!! Just keep that in mind, and you'll go far in Vegas... And, as for better games, I'm droolin to play the 1/2 $500 buyin at Caesars and the 2/5 no cap at Wynn... MMMMMMMMMMMM....
