Once again this week I didn't play any poker today. Instead I bought yet another motorcycle!!!!! And this one is definitely a keeper!!!! Anybody interested in buying a nice Yamaha V-Star 1100?
Details first, pics to follow. This bike is in absolutely PRISTINE condish!
2002 BMW K1200LT Custom
14.7k miles which makes this bike still practically brand new as BMW's go forever.
Individually heated seats
Heated grips
Heated mirrors
Electrically adjustable winshield so you can set it at whatever height suits you.
CB radio
Intercom system
Anti-theft alarm system. DAMN this thing is loud too!!
Travel computer for all the info I would ever need, like MPG, Range, Air temp, that kind of stuff. Not to mention idiot lights out the wazoo.
Antilock brakes
REVERSE GEAR!!!!! Never had this on a bike before but I tell you what, it sure makes it easier for me to back this thing up my driveway into the garage with my short ass legs.
TWO cd players! A single disc player up front and a 6 disc changer in the right travel case.
Stereo with AM/FM radio to go with the cd players. Separate volume controls for the driver and passenger! AND GET THIS, the motorcycle automatically adjusts the volume up and down depending on your speed and/or RPM so that the sound level stays the same as you set it to begin with! And with as quiet as this bike is, along with the nice windshield, the stereo is TOTALLY useable! I had never before thought having a stereo on a motorcycle made much sense. I am now a total convert.
A transferrable (for $25) bumper to bumper warranty that is good through October 2007. Why would they call it bumper to bumper on a vehicle with no bumpers?
Driving lights on the front forks. And these little babies really light up the road too! I already went out at night to try it out.
Tank bag, and bags that go into the travel cases so you can take your shit into your hotel with you like having a suitcase.
Here are some pics but they really just barely do the bike justice: The green gunk next to the keyhole on the handlebars is bug guts that somehow found their way there on the ride home from buying the bike.
To top it all off the guy also gave me a VERY nice Joe Rocket mesh (for warm weather) riding jacket with body armour. 4 helmets with different colored interchangeable face shields. A cold weather riding jacket and pants. And 4 pairs of riding gloves.
The credit union that financed this for me said the bike alone books out at 11K low (trade-in value) and 13k+ high (retail value) not including the warranty. Considering I got the ENTIRE package (bike, clothes, helmets, warranty) for $10.3k, I figure I got a decent deal overall.
And it has 10k more miles to go before it needs another servicing!!!
