GoodLuck? As if you need it! Like there's any chance they are going to fail the first "BTP Tourney winning Jewish Eskimo-American" to take the BAR? They don't need that kind of PC headache! You'll pass.

Awsomeness. Again, thank you to everyone for your support.

Day 1 recap.

Well, started with a rather bad combination of question and format, when I opened the first booklet and looked down at a Civil Procedure long essay. Ouch. Thankfully I knew two of the three parts and wrote something passable for the third part.
Flipped to #2 and absolutely rocked out the evidence essay. Drew a kind of odd contracts essay for #3, but got that through allright.

Got lunch and went and chilled at my office for a bit, figuring (correctly) that it would be more relaxing to go somewhere I am comfortable than sit around with a bunch of nervious fellow examinees.

Went back for the two MPTs and just got into a rhythm and dropped two really nice essays. It was just one of those grooves where I went in with a plan and executed it. Finished essay 1 30 seconds before the halfway point and finished essay 2 30 seconds before the end of the session.

MBE tomorrow. My biggest problem is timing. I tend to go through the questions too fast. If I can get slowed down, I will be fine.

More to come...

Day Two of the bar: the MBE.

For those of you who have never had the pleasure of taking the MBE, it is like kisses from a broad. Kisses from a broad if the broad is a large smelly man named Bruno and the kisses are direct hits to your crotch with a forty pound frozen cod.

Only 3 hours to go. 6 short essays tomorrow morning, then it is all done. I'm trying not to think about it and just relax. One odd thing is that we have to start tomorrow at 7:30 because (and you will all love this) because there is a Weight Watchers meeting that needs the damn room at 11.

Anyway, I have been trying to transition over to limit, because well, I am not very good at ring NLHE, but my limit game has improved immsensely lately. Also I am planning on hitting the bonus trail soon.

Played this hand, which I was really proud of. Villan was extremely agressive, but seemed good enough to be able to lay down a hand. I knew he had a king, but I also knew that if I played it just right, he would be willing to lay it down.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (7 handed)
Im in the BB with [Qs] [Qd]
Preflop:
1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, 2 folds, BB raises, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (8.40 SB) [Kc], [7h], [Td] (4 players)
BB bets, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, CO folds, BB calls.

Turn: (6.20 BB) [Ac] (2 players)
BB checks, MP1 bets, BB raises, MP1 calls.

River: (10.20 BB) [4h] (2 players)
BB checks, MP1 bets, BB raises, MP1 folds.

Final Pot: 13.20 BB

Results in white below:
BB has Qd Qs (one pair, queens).
Outcome: BB wins 13.20 BB.

Also, it is nice to do the hitting sometimes.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop:
3 folds, MP2 calls, MPC calls, 1 fold, Button raises, SB calls, BB calls, MP2 calls, MPC calls.

Flop: (10 SB) [2h], [2d], [9s] (5 players)
SB bets, BB folds, MP2 folds, MPC calls, Button calls.

Turn: (6.50 BB) [As] (3 players)
SB checks, MPC bets, Button calls, SB calls.

River: (9.50 BB) [3d] (3 players)
SB checks, MPC bets, Button calls, SB calls.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB

Results in white below:
SB has 9d Jd (two pair, nines and twos).
MPC has 3s 3c (full house, threes full of twos).
Button has Qs Qd (two pair, queens and twos).
Outcome: MPC wins 12.50 BB.

Quick hour session before dinner, +$7 or so.

First hand didn't make much sense, you knew he had a King yet insisted on drawing to your two outer or 4 aces for a complicated bluff? Ehhhh....

Second hand fold to the flop bet, again you're probably drawing to a two outer or if you're ahead (unlikely, SB is leading into the field on a non drawy board) you have to dodge both SB and Button.

Hope the Bar finishes up nicely for ya

Congrats on finishing up. Few things more rewarding emotionally and spiritually at least for myself than completing an intellectual pursuit of serious magnitude. Have a nice celebratory weekend.
