Well, my 2 or 3 day break from poker lasted about 8 hours!! I was really pissed at myself after that last session, but I didn't beat up on myself too bad....

I went after some bonuses and got destroyed at LIMIT, but made it all back in NL!! I have NO IDEA why I get my ass kicked at LIMIT, but it starting to to really piss me off!! I have always known I am better at NL, but as I have stated many times, I want to be a well rounded player, and proficient at all games. That goal is obviously needs some work!!

It has not been a great day today as I got stacked (set over set at a Crypto)), but I was playing well and got back to pretty close to even. I have a schedule at Crypto, so after that I went to Paradise and started working off a small bonus I have had there for awhile. Same old thing, as I couldnt win a hand at LIMIT for about an hour, then went to 50 NL and stacked a guy off, so I end up about even...I have no idea how the bonus clears at Paradise, but the games (50 or 100 NL) seem pretty good, although not a lot to choose from...

I'm gonna try Bodog pretty soon...and maybe check out PokerRoom...

We have a little Piers/BTP tourney tomorrow-I hope I don't forget!!

I am at 100NL at Pacific as I write this--I am actually stuck about 20 bucks which is pretty damn unusual!!

I will say this--It is kinda weird being a semi "regular" at 100 NL...I guess I always figured the players would be better, as well as thinking the BR would take longer to grow than it did...I have a long way to go, but I am getting better all the time-kinda fun...

I have a lesbian story also---but anybody bored enough to read this will just have to wait! A fairly well known poker pro has a very attractive wife, who has a twin sister who used to deal cards....

I'm sleepy now....

Well, I guess I have bragging rights for the week, as I got lucky and picked up a win at the BTP WCOOP in the PLO event...I stayed out of trouble and hit some hands when needed...This is no false modesty as Bri was there (2nd place) and a much better PLO player...I do wish Monk was there so I could have kicked his ass in his "main game" LOL...These things are always fun, but sadly, not enough trash talking since MK and TW neglected to show up. Hopefully, we can get a better turn out next weekend. I guess I better brush up on my 7 stud game this week in order to keep the points lead!!

Hey Piers- How about a 5 buck "last longer bet" in 7 stud? You are a huge favorite, but with your penchant for busting out first in these things, I figure we are about even!! LOL

I just goofed around playing 100 NL the rest of the evening, but just 1 or 2 games at a time, as I wasn't 100% focused. It was a decent night, but nothing too exciting...I didn't realize I had a Sept bonus pending at Interpoker so I was playing there most the evening...It's only 450 raked hands for 90 bucks, but you need a dollar rake I believe..It feels like you need about 1000 hands to get 450 raked...And after that I have the October bonus to go after. The 100 NL games are not too bad at the Cryptos, but they sure as hell aren't Party...
I guess it is about time to take a look at my PT stats and make sure I haven't let any big leaks into my game...

Later all---

Nothing earth shattering going on---just getting some bonuses done playing 100NL; cards have been ice cold, so I feel like I am doing OK just breaking even or winning a small amount...

We just finished the LIMIT BTP WCOOP...I didn't make it to the money ( I think 5th) but as always was alot of fun. I have no idea why I didnt have a "last longer" with Piers today, as he went out first (we had the bet yesterday when he won the damn thing)..I wonder why we don't get more action on these tourneys, as we have over 900 people on BTP, and can barely get a full table-Any ideas? Bri took the win, and I was pulling for him after I trashed talked him earlier...Nothing against TK, but he doesnt post much and talks even less...solid playin' SOB tho...we really have a great group here, with great humor-we just need more folks to show up....

I guess I will go to work now...

A pretty quiet night last night, as I got stuck pretty good at 7-Stud early on but managed to stage a comeback and get even...Although I am still a NOOB at 7 Stud, I still maintain the players are pretty bad overall (this is mainly at 1/2 cryptos), and I think a very beatable game, even if it's just to work off bonuses...

I was a bit bored, so I bounced around a bit-played some 100 NL here and there...win a little lose a little...

I jumped into a 200NL game for a bit...very enlightening...I have damn near 15 poker sites on my desktop and have played 100NL at every one of them. Are there some good players out there?? You bet your ass!! Are the games beatable? Absolutely! Once you get used o the bet sizes, there is VERY little difference between 25NL-50NL and 100NL...200NL is a different animal!! I have hit the ceiling at 100NL and have no problem with it; I have to get alot better to move up no matter what my BR is...The play is MUCH better overall, so I will jump in every once in awhile but 100NL is my home for quite awhile...7 to 9 PTBB/100 is OK at 100NL anyway, and if you told me a year ago I would be comfortable at this level, I would have called you crazy!!

Now if I can just figure out how to beat the damn 1/2 LIMIT game (at ANY site!!) LOL

yeah 200NL certainly calls for more aggression and better play..
$400NL i think is an even bigger jump though.

I jumped on $400NL a couple of months ago and had to jump back down. Finally back to $400NL and winning :) Bet sizes certainly take an adjustment, aggression is a must.

you'll get there soon i wouln't worry about it too much.

Another month gone in a blink!!

BR update---

Bankroll (AKA "retirement fund")

Mar 1st---600
Apr 1st---885
May 1st---1197
June 1st---2022
July 1st---1896
Aug 1st---2050 (+/-)
Sept 1st---2673
Oct 1st---3600 +/-
Nov 1st---4425

I am still pleased overall, since I didn't get in as many hours this month, plus donking off a stack in the 200NL...Between the bonuses and profits, I see no reason not to be looking at 6 K by the end of November...At this rate (if all goes well), I should have 10K by late spring, and I may actually cash out a bit...Not sure what the hell I would do with the money which is further proof I need to get a life!!

We still have a ton of bonuses out there---I may not even have time to get to all my "core" bonus sites...I want to try 365 sometime this month (even tho I am not a fan of Prima software)...I have so many stacked here and there, I may never get to them!! Forget about UB as I didn't even bother to re load ( have about 700 pending-but who cares), just did the Paradise ( about 300 pending), I have PStars ( 600 pending)...Piers just informed me about a Full Tilt reload...Geez, busy busy....

I saw some re runs of the WSOP on ESPN Sunday night...I haven't watched poker on TV in awhile, so I was somewhat entertained...I thought Howard L made some questionable plays, but I guess you never know!! Besides, he was there and I was watchin' him on TV, so who do you think is better?? LOL

Thanks for reading Bri---Those BTP "things" are fun...Everyone wants to kick each others ass, but it's still fun at the same time...Of course I will be point leader (all alone at the top) come Sunday night LOL....

I post my journal when I am in the mood, it's as simple as that...Rarely when I play do I think " Oh this is a good one to write about"...This time is different however, as I was about 100 hands into the pokerplex bonus, and all I could do is think about writing...

I was somewhat chagrined when I signed in, as I could not find ONE full 100NL game, which is my normal stomping ground these days, bonuses or not. So, I was relegated to the 1/2 LIMIT...
It was truly laughable really, as I went 200 hands (playing 3 tables) and had an amazing combined VIP of about 8% or less !! It would make Piers proud, especially when I remember a 45 suited limp (in EP), as well as a couple other marginal holdings; jesus, talk about cold cards...I guess what is funny is the reputation the cryptos have as far as being a BW's hangout. While this is true, the play is still godawful for the most part, and if these tight-passive fools think they will ever win any money, they are crazy!! Now you have to understand that generally speaking, I am not a big proponent of SSHE, but these tables were amazing... During the last 100 hands to get the bonus, I had a small flurry of playable hands...I flopped top 2 and jammed, being called by a flopped set all the way---this was NOT a dangerous flop, and he could have got a couple more bets outta me...Stuff like this happened over and over...
Also humorous was the table VIP which hovered around 20-22%, but it seemed like there was always somebody with a 50% VIP as well...I didn't ever get his money, so I hope he/she kicked all thir asses!!
I especially liked this one-I raised PF with AKs in MP and was called by the SB, I jammed all the way with nothing (ragged flop etc), and was called down by A2, so the mighty pair of 22 takes it down LOL-I am NOT saying my play was optimum, but DAMN, this guy had a VIP of 11% (over 100 hands) and called me down with that?? I figured I had him all the way, because he called my raise-blah blah...Doesn't really matter, but it was fun in a weird way...
I only lost 20 bucks, so the bonus puts me up for the evening...

I also got the double bonus (for whatever reason), so we will see if they let me keep it!! It's probably a software glitch on their part.

Back to work---I had some afternoon coffee, as I wanted to punch out at least 2 of these cryptos tonight...
