Thank you for the kind words, bobby, especially those concerning what an excellent, top-tier player I am. I really appreciate it when others point this out, because I myself am reluctant to shower myself with all the praise I deserve. I've always prided myself on my modesty.

And I'll tell ya what, kid, you got some potential. Sure, you fold too much and play a bit too cautiously when confronted with calling 4 bets cold, but I can definitely see a spark. For the low, LOW price of $125/hour, I'd be willing to give you some lessons, covering such advanced concepts as "No one ever won a pot by folding", and "85o might not look good for 3 bets, but you'll feel like a shmuck for folding when the flop comes 8-8-5!"

Seriously, though, I must say it was a very fun time playing with some BtPers and instilling shock, fear and hatred in the unsuspecting other players at the table. Damn, some of those fellas were getting MAD, lol!

Poker tidbits-----

I am trying to save enough for lessons from TW...LOL

I have pretty much moved up to 1/2 LIMIT, and 50 NL...

I saw the eye doctor today...New glasses---almost 400$---being able to see---Priceless ( I guess!)

I swore I was not going to touch my BR till I hit 10K, BUT I really haven't bought anything for myself in 5 years, except for 2 trips to LV. When I hit 5K, I am splurging on one of those 20 or 21 inch super duper dell monitors...Easier on the eyes, and MUCH easier to multi-table...It will probably pay for itself in a month....

My PTBB's/100 is in the Kenny/Iceman stage of 10PT BB/100 (only 2000 hands)...I am VERY happy with that, especially since I don't feel like I am getting any hands...

I ran 100 up to 300 at a new site, and took a shot at the 100NL...within 3 orbits, I ran my KK into AA...sigh......

My last hand of the night last night at the 50 NL...QQ, flopped a set, got action, I pushed and he caught a 4 outer on the river...BIG sigh....

I have played a TON of poker in the last 2 weeks, and gettin' a little burnt out, so I will just play a MTT tonight...So far, the usual...1700 peeps started, 1000 left, and I am short stacked, have played 2 hands and won none !!
Funny stats (in a sick way)---

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 51 hands and saw flop:
- 4 out of 6 times while in big blind (66%)
- 0 out of 6 times while in small blind (0%)
- 1 out of 39 times in other positions (2%)
- a total of 5 out of 51 (9%)
Pots won at showdown - 0 of 1 (0%)

My turn to get a hand in this silly tourney....

The problem with TW and annoyed is they have no sense of humor!! LOL

Anyway, for those of you I have talked to regarding my "article", It is still in the works, and has changed form a couple times...Thanks to all who responded, and I am also waiting for a couple more E mails, but obviously these people are too darn busy winning money!!

Thanks especially to---

Monk
Excession
KennyG
TUP
Rolf Slotbloom
Stelvask
and of course-Iceman, who wrote a post awhile back that started this crazy idea...

Scott Francis was nice enough to respond, and will be contributing when he has more time..
If I PM Piers again, I am sure he will have some words as well...
I have also been in contact with a few well known players/bloggers, so we will see what becomes of that...Of course I told them about BTP, and maybe they will contribute to our forums from time to time,,,

It has been a fun project so far, and if i wasn't so lazy (oops, I meant BUSY), it would be farther along...

GL all, and thanks again...

After putting in quite a few hours over the weekend, I was planning on taking Monday off for a quick poker vacation....So what did I do?? I read poker blogs for 3 hours, then realized the TW challenge was starting soon, so I was back at it! I gave myself EVERY advantage in the challenge match, inadvertantly buying in for 20% more the the others, as well as folding 3 hands preflop (A MAJOR rule violation), but it was all for naught, as I believe I won a single hand (perhaps 2) while the master himself showed his poker magic once again. TW managed to ZING most everyone, and I believe it was a fun time by all...

After the match, I sat in a 25 NL for about 30 minutes and managed to double my stack pretty easliy...

I might even take tonight off...We will see...

I keep threatening to take a "poker day off", but it never works out that way...I played mostly 50NL till damn near 2 AM last night (and I have to be at work around 6:30)...Trust me, I am getting too old for that nonsense. Was it worth it?? From a money standpoint, a resounding NO! I did win about a stack or so in the end, and that was fine...I was up much more than that, but there was NO WAY I was leaving the games I was in...Donks galore...
It was amazing to see really, as a couple guys at each table were 75plus% VP$P and pretty passive to boot. One of these goofballs had 200+ and another had 150. Sadly some of their stack was once mine as I went down in flames to the mighty Q-2 three F***** times...And of course anytime I flopped 2 pair, one of 'em would river trips...The last hand was a beauty, almost comical really. I had KJ suited, flopped JJx, get all my money in, and he hits runner runner AA which fit nicely with his A rag holding. I was pretty amazed to lose that hand, but strangely, I wasn't upset at all. I guess since I had been winning quite a bit earlier took the sting out of it. I can only imagine how I would have felt of it had been a really crappy night, and THEN lose a stack in such a manner right before bed at 2 AM!! Yikes...

I made a couple calling blunders that cost me small amounts, but overall, I think I was playing pretty damn well...I layed down KK twice, and believe it or not I also did the same with AA after a very coordinated flop, and a big bet and a huge re raise before it got to me. I am not sure I have done that before, but it actually felt good to do so...I suppose the 2+2 guys would have sh**, but ss long as I'm winning, you can call me weak-tight all you want!!

Time for dinner---maybe I will play a little later....LOL

A quick update---
On Thursday, I actually did take a full day off from poker, and never played a hand...I did a lot of reading about "casino whoring", but decided it wasn't for me...

Friday---I wasn't really in the mood to concentrate on NL, so I entered a few FPPs at Stars, trying to qualify for the WCOOP...

#3---was limit HE---I managed to get about 2/3rds of the way through before I had a very dry run and was forced to go all in with very mediocre holdings. LIMIT HE in a tourney setting can be really frustrating!! Geez, what do you do without cards? It's not like you can take a pot away from some guy once in awhile just to survive...

#2---was PL HE---I got REALLY close on this one, dammit!! 17 went to the next round, and I bubbled out at 20th...I was one of the short stacks, and knew I had to play at least one more hand to get there...I find AQs in MP, and make my move, but sadly run into this moron who had the audacity to take me on with KK !! LOL Oh well, nobody likes to make a big stand with AQ, but I had no choice and there is no second guessing on my part...I have NO idea about the nuances of PL, and I just basically played the same as I would a NL tourney. From what I have read, there is more subtlety involved, and an art to building pots, but most of that is all lost on me for the moment.

#3---was O8 LIMIT---This one was more fun--...

PokerStars Tournament #11527324, Limit Omaha Hi/Lo
Super Satellite
Buy-In: 90 FPP
86 players
Total Prize Pool: 7740 FPP
Target Tournament #11526907
8 tickets to the target tournament

Tournament started - 2005/08/26 - 16:00:00 (ET)

Dear bobby,

You finished the tournament in 1st place.
You qualified to play in Tournament #11526907 and are automatically registered
for it.
See Tournament #11526907 Lobby for further details.

It was just a qualifier to a qualifier, but I have always enjoyed tourneys, and have done OK over the years. Plus it's basically a free shot at some nice coin...I'm really better at PLO8, but the limit game has been good to me overall, so we will see what happens. Wish me luck!!

Great job bobby! Congrats on the win. The Round 2 qualifier is 900 FPPs, right? That will be a great test of your skills.

Remember the goal, and remember that no matter what, getting an entry into the WCOOP and a shot at that $400K prize pool is awesome--even better that it will have cost you essentially nothing to get there!

Congrats again, and keep us posted!

That's pretty strong with only one royal in 25 years. I guess I have been tremendously lucky over the last 11years or so as I have actually lost count of the number of royals that I have hit but it is in the neighborhood of 10 or so, my first one was in Omaha H/L but all the other ones have beenin holdem. Here's hoping that it won't be another 25 years until the next one

Piers---It's not Like I have been playing full time for all those years!! And "way back then", all you could play in CA was 5 card draw and Lo ball...I'm showing my age now LOL

I don't think I have mentioned this...I have a pup who curls up under the desk for hours as I work and play poker...She always gets very upset when she hears the "F" word cuz she knows "daddy" is pretty upset...It's pretty funny really, she gets all goofy, and starts jumping up in my lap to make sure I'm OK...(smartest damn dog there ever was)

I used the "F" word..........

All in in the WCOOP thing---PL HE.....My JJ vs 10-10 vs 77.......10 comes..........

F word (or 2)

limit omaha WCOOP thing-- top 16 advance

Dealer: bobby finished the tournament in 17th place

I used the "F" word MANY times...........

I love my dog, but I was not in the mood for puppy kisses....

So----------------

F*** !!!!!!!!
