Maaan. Losing $1.5k in 2 hours is pretty tite, no?

I had a 3buyin downswing at the nl200 tables, lost a $200 HU match and then saw the biggest fish ever sitting at a $500 HU match table so of course I sign-up and lose to him (A8 vs 87 in on a T82 flop) was the big hand.

I'm still up for the month so I can't do too much complaining, but dropping half your monthly profits in one day is pretty sickening.

Stop 1337 speak, LOL! Yes, that's pretty horrendous. Still, what can you do when you're a poker prodigy 'cept keep playing?

When I play a patient and relaxed game I win - that simple.

Be glad your opponents refuse to fold; if they didn't, you just might go broke.

I lost another 2 $200 HU matches, one to a gutshot and one to an OESD (money in on the turn). WTF. Warcraft and good food is the utlimate tilt ender, though.

Ok so yesterday I lost about $1.6k at Pokerstars playing mainly 200 NL, $200 HU and $500 HU matches. Then for a change of scenery I deposited $2k into Pacific to play some SNGs/lo8 so I jump right in and win two $200 HU matches vs this uberdonk and make another $200 playing HU lo8 5/10 with a terrible player. I saw that they had implemented pot-limit omaha games and ever since i've had 3 tables of a mix between PLO/PLO8 1/2 and 2/4 running at all times. The games are just too juicy. Long story short my Pacific cashier balance is now: $3,604.87.

I'm going out to play live poker tonight and tomorrow night. I doubt i'll play in the tournament because I almost always just donk off my chips when the cash game starts. I'm thinking of suggesting we bump the blinds up to 2/3 or 2/4 in the cash game though, it might make the other players a little more uncomfortable and that's always a good thing.

So it's been a while since an update, quite a bit of exciting shit has happened in my poker life. Where I took off last i'd had a shocker of a day losing $1.6k and then the next day I made it back, well, I haven't had a losing day since then. I'm running well and playing great and everyone else is running shit and playing bad, it's one of those times.

On Friday night I went to my usual live game to play in the tourney/cash game. The tourney is a $20 rebuy with only one rebuy allowed, and a $20 addon. Long story short I accumulated a tonne of chips and was chipleader by the first break, and stayed that way till the end to take it down for $530. The cash game was a 1/2 dealers choice game with a $400 max buyin, which I bought in for and cashed out at a little over $500.

On Saturday night I went to my usual live game, same place, same crowd. The tourney is a $50 freezeout - only 18 players entered but I took this one down too for about $400. I was playing HU with the worst player in the world, half the time he was showing me his cardswhen he picked them up to look at then (we were sitting across from each other). I told him the first few times it happened and he ended up folding, but he kept doing it, so I just figured fair game and used the information. It wasn't as easy as you'd think since he was the type to call allins preflop with Q6s and push preflop with a huge range, whenever he did I never seemed to have a better hand to call with. I did get him in the end though. The cash game afterwards wasn't so great and I dropped about $150 - still a good night overall though.

I've still been playing a lot at Pacific and since depositing $2k there less than a week ago, my balance is at about $5.4k right now. Half due to the softness of their omaha games, and the other half due to the softness of their SNGs, in particular, the HU matches. Look:

Completely unsustainable but that is ridiculously high, so even when it drops, it'll stay at a nice level, i'm sure.

I played in the Razz event of the WCOOP yesterday and got bad beated to hell out of it. You can read about it in the Beats & Low Content section. Basically though it was a 3way pot and had I won it, I would've been chipleader at that point, and I was about 70% to win at 5th street and 85% to win at 6th street. The guy who scooped had 5% to win at 5th and hit runner-runner. Ohwell.

I haven't had a chance to tally up how much i'm up for the month in total, so I think I might do that now.

Tournaments/SNGs
Tourneys Played: 164
Total Profit: $1296
ROI: 10.7%
Time Played: 27.6 Hours

Stars Cash Games
Hands played: 20,620
Total Profit: $1,747.85
Time Played: 35.30 Hours

Pacific Cash Gmes
Total Profit: $1860.95
Time Played: 19.08 Hours

Live Poker
Total Profit: $1,207.44 ($1605 AUS)
Time Played: Approx. 42 Hours

Other
Profit from 1/2 Horse table: $120 in 1.5 hours

Overall Profit: $6,341.24
Time Played: 125.48 Hours (WTF?!?! that number seems WAY too high)

Anyway. I've also made about $800 worth of FPP points at stars but i'm not counting those as it's more a bonus, not profit from poker. Looks like I may just make my goal of $10k this month. WOOOWOWOOWOWOOOOOOT.

Well I went out first in the WCOOP today against the WORST player in the history of no-limit texas holdem. Unfortunately for me, he also happened to be the luckiest. On hand #1 I hit a straight on the river and he made a flush, he minraised so I basically had to pay him off. Hand #2 I flop top pair and he flops top 2, i get lucky to draw the hand. From then on he was just hitting everything and getting incredible hole cards - he would show them to me whenever I folded. One hand he slowplayed aces to the extent that he limped preflop at 10/20 blinds, I check a 457 flop or something, and he bets 440 into a pot of 40. Another time I CRAI on the turn for 500 or so after his bet of 140, he promptly called off another 360 with nine high. No pair, no draw, drawing dead to my bottom two. The final hand we got allin on the flop, my AK to his 45 on a K43 board and he rivers a 4.

I played a couple of $100 HU matches at Stars before this match and lost them both, so the day started with me being stuck $400 or so. I then played about 35 HU SNGs at Pacific to crawl back into the black and then some. I'm really loving them. However I lost a fair bit in the cash games and probably ended the day up $200 or so. I'm not complaning, i'm very happy with that result.

I think I will stick to playing a LOT of HU matches for a while. Even at the $100 and $200 level (the highest Pacific spreads) the players are just terrible. Here's a graph of all my HU SNGs with $105 and $210 buyins:

Image

I'm pretty close to my goal of $10k for the month so I think i'm gonna take it easy for a few days and not play as much. Tomorrow night i'm hanging out with a friend and then Friday & Saturday is live poker again. I'm also plan on going out with a couple of friends to the Casino on Monday or Tuesday so all in all I won't have too much spare time anyway. I suspect the 30th will be spent with me 18-tabling on Stars to fulfill my bet with Shamdonk.

No, no we cant :P

So this morning has started off interestingly. I woke up and saw someone sitting at the PLO 400 table all alone so I decided to sit with him fo a bit. About 6 minutes later he has a $1.4k stack and I close the table before tilt sets in. So yeah I lost about $1k there. Then I played three $210 HU sngs, one $53 HU sng, and two $215 5-man sngs. I won them all except for one of the 5-man sngs in which I got second. This puts me up about $200 on the day. You might think i'm getting incredibly lucky to keep winning these HU matches, but here is an example from one of the ones I played (all 3 were against the same opponent).

This is about 5 hands into our third match (played maybe an hour after the first two):

Hero (1120) [6d] [8h]
Villian (880)

Hero posts Big Blind: 20
Villian posts Small Blind: 10

Villian raises 20 to 40.
Hero calls 20.

Flop: [6s] [6h] [2c]

Hero bets 60.
Villian raises 780 to 840.
Hero calls 780.

Villian turns over [8s] [Ad]

Brick, brick. Yay money.

Just put in another freaky long session, though playing mostly NL100 as i'm tired and not playing my A game. I played about 5k hands all up today which I think is a new personal best. Graph:
