Live report
Friend of mine organized a little tournament in a nearby pub.. 36 Entrants buyin 10éuro.
First price 150É 2nd 90É 1st to 5th paid.
The blinds moved up every 15 minutes and their was a huge difference in skill. Some people didn't know waht : "check meant", while others were talking about implied odds and rope-a-dope from HOH. I was shortstacked throughout the entire tourney untill i made 2 pair from the SB with 92. flop 29A and it went 3-way allin. Moved to the table with the chpleader and i busted him in 5 hands wich gave me a monster stack. The final table came after 3 hours of play and soon enough i busted 1 of my friends 1 short of the money.
Key hands final table.:
QQ BB. Shortie raises i move all-in he calls KJo and K comes on the turn. This double up made him chipleader by not much. (blinds were huge compared to stacks)
66. I became short stacked after last beat i move in. Chipleader calls with 77.
6 on the turn,
Whole place went berzerk when that happened.
KK UTG.. limped 3 way.. Chipleader from hand above raises i move in, he folds.
QQ MP (6 handed) : I move in K8o calls and doesn't improve.
Headsup with drunk guy, after 4 hands of little blind wars he moves all-in preflop while saying the words: "Let's get it over with, 90é or 150é what does it matter".
While this seems like the standard weak means strong tell i heard him say it through the whole tourney and that he was sick of the wooden chairs. I was pretty done also, so i called with AJ figuring i was probably favorite to win the hand, sure enough he flipped over AKo and i felt really really stupid. I don't improve.
I had him covered, not by much so i said he could have it so i won a nice 90é.
Afterwards the winner came to me and he said: "if it wasn't AKo i would have moved in also, i was honestly done with it".. That made me feel good.
Taking shots, one at a time.
