Started off on 2x $200 6 max tables at Wasa and within 30 minutes was $300 down; in fact at that point I had $120 on one table, $80 on another and no reserve left at the cashier :(

Still gritted my teeth, calmed down and played on.

90 minutes later I am +$130 overall (ie have made $430 in those 90 minutes) and have over $500 on one table where an 80% Vp$iP uber-donk has already donked off and re-bought 4x$100 stacks. He has just rebought again....I have position on him. ..Life is good and about to get even better...

Ack baby crying (this is 10pm and wife has been in bed since 9). I sit out and go and investigate. Hmm smelly nappy - quick change and cuddle and back down hoping Mr Donk hasn't gone.. great news.. he has trebled up somehow (even donks hit sets I guess) and and now has over $350 :) .. I close down my other table so I can give this one my full attention. And it's only 10.10pm..I can play as long as uber-donk has money left...

WAAAH!

WAAAAH!

WAAAAAAAH! :?

uh-oh.. baby has worked out that he is hungry as well and has gone from silent to loud enough to wake the dead (never mind his mother and sister) in about 0.3 second :(

Sad to say by the time he is fed and settled, table is no more and I never did get my hands on Mr Donk's remaining $$.

Anyway winning start to week, so can't complain too much.

3 tabling $100 6 max or 2 tabling the $200's 6 max seems to work out at a pretty steady 100VIP points/hour at B2B (which equates to $26/hr). Am now at 1300 points, which is 43% of the 600+50 euro bonus or about $335 accrued so far.

Tuesday - another hour's play - 1x$100 and 2x$200 6 max at Wasa- another +$91 and 100 VIP points (about $26). Went to bed early (11pm).

Today my wife is having 2nd viewing of house we're hoping to buy. It has plenty of room for a separate study. This will be a relief esp.after my daughter managed to wreck the 'L' key on my $2000 Dell laptop. :?

Have updatde my Excel spreadsheet to show hourly win-rate year to date. It's showing 172 hours and $28/hr but this ignores $370 in accumulated VIP points and the fact that Ive spent about 30 hours playing MTT's/SnG's for a more or less break even position (maybe marginally up).

I reckon my Ring game win rate YTD is about $35/hr.

Multplying this up by the time I'm out of the house for work and taking into account the fact it's tax-free means that I am earning more/hour playing NL 6 max $100/200 ring than I do at my job as a corporate lawyer.

I think the phrase is 'tipping point'...

Wednesday - again hit the e200 6 max at B2B at about 9pm UK time - this is about 10 or 11 pm in Scandanavia and so 'those crazy scandanavians' (TM) are out in full force.

Picked tables with 43% and 56% ViP averages.

Lost e100 early when my full house got beaten by a higher one, but from then on it was plain sailing.

Played until I'd earned another 100 VIP points (I'm doing a minimum of 100/day to make the 3000 I need by month end) - just over an hour.

Up a very nice $302 (plus 100 VIP points worth $26) over 207 hands in 1.08 hrs.
What's surprising is the speed - 95hands/table/hr - I was using 70 or so as a rule of thumb - I can see that I'm going to have to alter that.

$526 up this week in 4 hours plus 400 VIP points (about another $100) earned.

I think the earlier shorter sessions really suit me. I don't lose focus, aren't as tired and seem to hit a sweet spot for donk-dowsing at that time on B2B..

Thursday - still at Wasa (B2B).

54 minutes from 9pm.

2x e200 and 2xe100 6 max

Card Dead on the e200's and lost e11, but made e70 on the $100's and racked up 120 VIP points in total, so +$70 and $31 in VIP points.

I added a new move for me too - with hands like ATs in LP I started re-raising a loose pre-flop raiser (20% PFR). My image was tight (18/5 or so as I was so card dead) and he laid down both times. This was on the e200's. I think the lessoon was that if you are card dead, even in 6 max ,you can stay break even (or close) by trading off a super-tight image.

Funny. I felt that I was at standstill for most of the hour and would be lucky to break even, and yet stil ended up with a $111/hr win rate :) Now 1620VIP into the 3000 I need for maxxing this month's bonus.

Party have offered me $75 for 750 raked hands so, as I haven't played there in ages or played at a site where I can use PAHUD for that matter, I'll go back there for a few hours play and see what's it like - it'll be nice to have vast table selection...

One thing I read recently on 2+2 made me think - you shouldn't have a set stake level you play at you should have a range - this chimed with me as I pick the highest VIP tables at B2B on both e200 and e100 6 max - I prefer them to be e200 but would rather buy-into 2x 50%+ Vp$IP e100's than a sub-40% $200..I almost bought into a 60%+ VP$IP $400 6 max table last night - but couldn't quite bring myself to make the move up..

That said i shoud really start thinking about my 'range' as $100, $200 and $400 6 max tables I think - rather than thinking that I'm strictly a $200 player..

Friday - up with daughter at 5.20 am, got her back to bed just as son was kicking off - got him back down at about 7.15 am and so had about 45 minutes to play some poker before daughter would be up again.

As not many 'crazy scandavians' (TM) are up and about at 8.15am Stockholm time, I bypassed Wasa and thought I'd try Party $100 tables (they had just credited me with $75 which they will clawback in 7 days if I don't play 750 raked hands so it seemed rude not to). Thought I might catch some drunk americans celebrating the start of Easterweekend by donking off a couple of stacks to me :)

Unfortunately I haven't played Party in 6 months and was taken by surprise by the incredible combinations of aggro calling stations.

I got stacked by a very aggro guy I had position on when he called my AK pot-sized re-raise pre-flop with JTo and then when I re-raised him again on flop he called with his inside straight draw. Of course he hit broadway on turn and my stack was gone. I didn't have time to recover before another child started screaming (wife was ill in bed) and so that was that for the day.

Took my hyper daughter out to a big country estate with working farm and 100 acres of beautiful gardens - tired both of us out.

Got back about 6pm and managed another 25 minutes at Party whilst both kids slept.

I was more in the right frame of mind and managed to win my stack back plus a little bit.

I have alos switched back from PAHUD to GT+ (just because I'm used to 'thin-slicing' with GT+ at the moment and as I'm out of practice suffer info overload with PAHUD the way its currently set up for me).

If you want to learn about 'thin-slicing' decision-making a great read is the book 'Blink' - I think it is of very great relevance to explaining how good players really think (not how they say or think they think)

http://www.gladwell.com/blink/index.html

Anyway 1/3 of the way through the Party bonus (so i guess that's +$25) and up $20 at 4PTBB/100 today.

Tha's 6 hours play for the week +$608 and bonuses worth about $140 accrued - hourly equivalent about $125 :D

Late Friday - started another Party session and found myself in another hole. Went as deep as $180 or so before starting to pull it back.

Ended up about +$20 on the session overall and finished the $75 bonus in 900 $100 6 max hands.

Total winnings at Party +$41 and $75 bonus in just under 4 hours of constant aggro and not having a clue where I was in most hands - just very annoying - I won't be going back for a while

Got 1400 VIP to finish off at Wasa (for my full e650 bonus) and the 2 UK £25 Cryptos to do this month - Ritz and Will Hill. Also I've got Tribeca sites Paddy Power and Doyle's Room (last one courtesy of Ice) to deposit and bonus whore...

Won't be any Party, Stars or UB in my future for a bit..

party is always a huge adjustment for me when i go back. it just never seems easy in the begining.

i think it's going to be interesting to witness your 6 max game evovling once you reach the 1k games.. (which i think is a forgone conclusion.)

I should take 3 days off and come back more often.

1 hr 5 minutes 2-3 tabling the 6 max e200's today in 2x half hour sessions in between dealing with wife/children and mother...

+$395 and about $50 in VIP points.

$420/hr has got to be good going even for Kenny

Ditto...I can't play unless I'm ready to sit for 2hrs...I may stop early, but I plan for at least 2hrs. I can't knowingly just play for 20 or I have the same problem.
