My biggest MTT cash yet.

Postby semperfi » Thu Mar 10, 2005 3:40 am

I am still playing the cheapies. Just came in 2nd out of 2020, in a $3 NLHE tourney on stars. Paid $751.

I had a 2 to 1 lead when it got to heads up. Had a flush beaten by a straight flush, and the tables turned. I was slowly making a comeback when I slowplayed AQo. Flopped an ace, and just called the other guys bets. Was milking his A4 really nicely until a 4 hit on the river. His two pair busted me. I almost reraised him on the turn to try and end the hand, but I was determined to double up as he had gotten very aggressive. Oh well.

I want to thank Kowboy for his article on MTTs. It has helped me immensely. I actually had it open and was referring to it late in the tourney. Very good stuff. I have blown big stacks just on the bubble, or barely into the money, probably would have done so again without the article here on BTP.

Great Job! It is much harder to even make the final table in those huge MTT's then in the higher buy in 200 players ones. You must have really been focused.

I am pleased the article helped. Maybe I need to go re-read it because lately all I have been able to do is just get past the bubble.

If I ain't sinkin', well I must be swimin' If I ain't dead, I must be livin' Livin' is the thing, that scares me the most And if I ain't sleepin', well I better be fishin' If I ain't anchored I will be driftin' But all and all, I'm doing pretty good, since I hit my third coast!

Kowboy, after you re-read your piece, you need to write that follow up article you promised. How long do we have to wait?

I didn't want to play with 2000 people, but it's hard to find the right size tourneys at the small buy ins. I may take some of my winnings and start playing $10 tourneys, hopefully I can find some of those with 100-200 people. I think the crypto sites limit the entries in alot of their tourneys.

Prima has a lot of $1 to $3 buy in with around 300 players signing up.

I will start a new tread and get some idea's where BTPers are having trouble. I been putting it off because I wasn't sure what area I wanted to focus on.

I'll that ya'll decide.
