so its 9:15am and Im bored so I decided to play a cheap tourney when this happened:

Anyone disagree w/ this? I kindof didnt want to go nuts this early in the tourney, but this seemed like the right thing to do at the time. Everyone had 1500+ and I kindof expected a call as this is a 5$ tourney and they're all donks, but maybe im wrong.

I've never been fond of the limp-reraise, especially early in a tournament. I would just make a standard raise, and if reraised, I'd probably push over the top. As played - I don't see an issue with pushing there. I'd rather take the 500 then flat call and let them catch a hand on their own.

I actually think this is the only way to play it. You raise and you see how many loose calls your going to get and then your stuck playing it in a big pot out of position. One of the good things about limp re-raising is that sometimes it allows you to limp more liberally in early position as people might now have a fear or raising you.

You're generally going to get some calls in $5 tournies though. As a matter of fact, when I used to play $5's on AP I could even just shove Aces and Kings vs a couple of limpers or a single raise and get calls most of the time.
