I finally did it. wohoo!
$10+1 PLO/8 on stars. 300 entrants even.
I built up a chip lead early on and after the first break stayed in the top 10 until the very end. it was fantasmic. i was able to milk enough out of my strong hands to make up for the chips i lost on the lesser
Though to be fair... it wasnt a total win. when we got heads up we both had almost identical stacks of 225,000. in two minutes the blinds were going up to 10k/20k. SO...
A: I had never played plo/8 heads up before
B: we had incredibly shallow stacks, meaning one hand would probably decide the tourney
C: He was one the only players in the final two tables that i thought was good
Anyhow, once he took out the third guy and caught up to my stack, he suggested an even split (currently $825 for first and $525 for second) - split would be $675 a piece. Since i felt the match was essentially a coinflip at this point, i agreed to it. After the host arrived and we played it out, i solidly whomped him in two hands.
Anyhow, there's my bragging for the day.
I'd like to thank the entire BTP community (though i've been neglegent and haven't been here for months) for teaching me nearly everything i know about tournements, and in particular i'd like to thank both ATE and Felonious_Monk for everything they've each taught me about PLO/8
: )
