the fact that he didnt push having only around 300 left after the raise scares me. he probably has something like 88. but then again if he had a set i would think he would just smooth call the flop and all in the turn. but what do i know about poker ne ways

I'd say raise it to 200 preflop, then CB half pot or so and fold to a raise. I think you played it fine, you should just have dialed down the size of the chips you moved in a bit.
