I have now played in the $10k guaranteeds at Pacific at least a dozen times and not cashed once!

Last night was typical - almost 2 hrs in - 120 left of field of 700+. Blinds are 100/200 so I still have 30x the BB.

I have played OK and have a 6k stack (which is average and puts me in top 40).

On my table there is a big stack to my right, a couple of 1k stacks to my left and a 5600 opposite. Rest of table are 3-4k.

I only arrived at the table 2 hands ago.

In this hand I am UTG+2 with KK. Folded to me, I push. One of small 1k stacks calls. Then the 5600 stack (who is OTB) calls.

He turns and flops the ace - I am gone

I mean just how huge a muppet do you have to be to make that call?

2 hours wasted. I am too demoralised with this sh*t - I think MTT's just aren't for me.

This isn't a freeroll or $3 Rebuy or Speed Tourney either - It's $16.50 entry with 15 minute blind intervals - enough to attract so-called solid players you would think..

The thing is to make top table in an MTT you need to play well and get lucky (by which I mean win a lot of 60/40 'coinflips'). I reckon in at least 8/12 I've gone out when I got the money in with a significant edge - which is really all you can do...

For a player as part-time as me I just can't get my head around the huge variance and massive frustration of these MTT's.

Obviously it isn't the $200 in fees I've spent that particularly bother me so much as the 20 table hours wasted - MTT play until you get in the money is exceptionally boring compared to Ring IMHO...
