You are right on Telemachus. To add to tight/passive this player is also know as a calling station. If you are playing against one of these players in a tourny or a cash game watch out when they start betting instead of calling. They rarely if ever bluff.
The reason I recomend this type of play early in a MTT and at the start of the final table is because loose/aggresive players are going to be betting any 2 cards and all it takes is one suck out and your crippled. If you have a real strong hand then shift gears and push it as long as you have the best of it. But even if you double up go back to playing tight/passive untill the morons are knocked out or crippled enough so they can't hurt you when there gut shot hits on the river.
