There is a poker tournament in town tonight for a $65 buy-in. HOWEVER they have a ADD-ON policy after 4 rounds for $65 to buy the same amount of chips as an add on. When doing this.....is the right move to buy an add on? If so isn't it really a $130 expected cost? How big of a disadvantage do your put yourself at if you do not ADD ON? THANK YOU.

Yes figure to add on...... and for rebuy tourney's figure a few rebuys to NOT do so puts you at a serious disadvantage. Now tourneys with no add on but a rebuy if you go broke.....don't go broke LOL

the only time you wouldnt want to add on is if it will have very little impact on your chip position because you have accumulated so many chips. this is rarely going to happen. there is no majic number but if you had turned your 1000 chips into say 8-9k you might consider not adding on. ofter you get more than the original buy in say 1500 or 2000 for the addon and in these situations its absolutely mandatory. i would go into considering it a 130 buy in though.
