Push or fold?

Postby Kalle » Sun Mar 06, 2005 5:30 am

$11 NL tourney at PS

We're in the money. About 40 players left. Blinds 600/1200. UTG (big stack, new to table) raises to 6000. I have 3800 in chips. Dealt 88 in MP1. Push or fold?

31 players left. Blinds 1000/2000. I have 13000 in chips. Dealt 77 UTG+1. Table is not loose but not tight either. Fold, call, raise min, or push? And why?

Without knowing the size of the chip leaders, it is tough to say...In hand #1, I push 100% of the time there...I feel you have to make something happen here, you may have the best hand as well...An overcall probably dooms you, but I think it is the right play...

In hand #2 Knowing chip stack sizes is even more important here...I think it is a virtual coin flip as to the "right" thing to do here...A "read" is probably going to tell me what to do here, but other than that, I think I have to go with the hand meaning a call I think) I wanna see a flop here, and I know I need help......My aggression gets me into heaps of trouble sometimes, and that's why I am posting this first---Rip away boys and give us both all your thoughts...
