Hi,
I play a lot of rebuys and do fairly well in those.
What I try to do is to get as close to 10K if I can after rebuy. If no one at your table does an immediate rebuy it is of no use that you do this. If one or two make a rebuy I see for the first round how loose they are. If this are the type of any picture pair all inn guys I also make a rebuy.
Watch the players carefully on what they play sometimes you can go all in with KQ ( or less )because the player is a maniac.
If 3 or more players have more then 3K you have to get more chips in order to not cost yourself money. Offcourse you like to double up quik to 6K or so.
If I get 6K early i mostly sit on them and wait for that big hand which often comes.
Talk to yourself during the break that the madness is now over. You are in a regular tournament now and you will be out if you wager all your chips.
Don't look at the leaderboard to much, it does not matter that the chipleader has 7 times your stack it will all come together in the end. I have yet to see a chipleader after first hour ( or 2 ) to win the event.. I have finished third once with the minmum of chips.
Important to look at the players and look for those guys who are gonna double you up.
Play agressive when the blinds are worth it. In the rebuy this would be when the blinds and antes are 1K ore more. If you try to steal then do it good so raise at least to 1.2vK or little more.
When you get played back at let go. Don't steal often at least not more then 1 time in one or 2 rounds unless you really need chips. Often they will believe you if they have not got a big hand.
Rest plays like a normal tournament where you need luck and patience.
cheers.
