Tourney Idea, what do we all think?

What do you guys think of playing a BTP heads up tournament? Make some kind of bracket system and do it just like the one they are running on I think its NBC. I'm not sure how we'd work the online part of it, but there are some really good players on this site who, I would love to play heads up and I think a bracket tournament would be a lot of fun.

Ok so far our interested players are
1. ME
2. Kalle

I'm in. They did this on UPF a last year, as a succession of heads-up SNGs - an archive search will probably reveal the structure, which was quite closely thought out.

I seem to recall the logistics only just worked out...

Certainly do-able on PokerStars, I think. When you create a tournament it gives you a 'Heads Up?' option.. I'll investigate for next month, sound OK?

testuo - don't the Stars heads up tournaments last ages (if not the blinds must go up like a rocket)?

The UPF conceit was that the tourney took place over several weeks, with the paired players arranging a time (on the forum, so a suitably bored crowd could assemble).

I'll see if I can dig out the set up from the archives, in case it's of any interest...

Al kind of hit on what I was thinking maybe have one round a week and allow the players that are playing each other to find times that work for them, then have the report their results when they are done.

I played in the UPF version of this. I think letting the players arrange their own laying time is much better than having a structure.

It will go much faster and people wont have to plan their day around a heads up tourney that some times takes only 5 mins or less.

All we need is someone to volunteer to organize it. (Thanks for stepping forward Rhound50). That person makes the bracket.

The way UPF did it was this. The organizer takes the list of names of who wants to play over a week or so sign up time. Then if theres 16 people signed up....Signee #1 plays signee #16....signee #2 plays signee #15 and so on...just like a regular seeded touney (college basketball for example)

The organizer announces the matchups and then the players have 3 days to get the match played. Once all 1st round matches are done, the organizer reseeds for the 2nd round.

Im in by the way. At UPF , I think we played $10 the first 2 rounds, $20 for the 3rd and 4th and $50 for the final. Something like that. That all depends how many people we have though.

The only problem is that you cant do a private heads up SNG so you both have to jump nto the game at the same time or some yahoo might get in there.

Yeah Ice that is fine, I'd be happy to run it. Thought I dont want to start play for 3 weeks if that is ok with everyone else. I have my last final a 3 weeks from last friday, after that I will have more time, instead of just posting from school when I should be studying.
