$50 PLO on UB.
I get [8h][9c][Th] on the button. Few limpers and I raise the pot. Only MP calls. I start the hand with $80, he has $50. Until now I have been playing tight and only played one big pot, which I won with top set. I've played with this guy before and if he pays attention at all then he knows I don't bluff a lot and usually show decent hands. He is not very aggressive or tricky.
Flop: [7d][8c]. He checks, I bet pot, he calls. At this point I know he doesn't have a set, since he would raise with that or bet out. Most likely he has the flush draw.
Turn: . Check, I bet pot, he calls.
River: . He checks. The pot is about $55 and he has $25 left. I can't beat many hands, so probably my only way to win is by making him fold. I bet $25, he calls and shows a Q for trips (and he had the nut flush draw).
Anyone check behind on the turn trying to play a smaller pot? Anyone just give up on the river? Does this work enough % of times to make it +EV?
